Simple dilemma. Should i buy a Jordan Auto, or a graded Jordan rookie? There seems to be soooooo many rc's out there that paying top $ for them just doesn’t sit well with me. But then again, it IS a Jordan rc....

personally id have a RC. there are alot of RCs out there, but there are loads of autos aswell. and there are way more autos to come. plus the MJ RC is iconic to the hobby.
just my opinion...

Agreed! Jordan RC!

There are a lot of different autos out there, but only one real RC!

Don't look at it as 'paying big $$ for a RC' compared to 'paying big $$ for an auto'!
At the end of the day, you pay that amount because that is what they are currently worth!

And in 20 years time, what do you think will be better?? A Jordan RC? or a <insert random year> Jordan auto??

Yes, good point.

Choose carefully, don't just buy one because it's there. Make sure it has the subs you desire and it appeals to you. I've had a 9 before but I love my 8.5 much more. It IS an iconic card, and the older the grading the better it likely is (before the graders got much softer on grades...). Shop within your budget but if you see one you really like, get it.
That said, there are some pretty damn nice MJ autos out there... though the College ones have watered-down the market.

Yeah, I'm with you on this one! The overall grade shouldn't be the only factor when choosing one! Especially if you can get an 8.5 with corners, centering and surface that high!! I get why they put a 7.5 on the edges, but to look at, it is much better than an 8.5 due to poor centering!

With you 100% on this. Centering is huge for me.

Damn! That would be exactly what i am looking for. And something with a clean slab, not all scratched up.

i want one too! but the only concern i have is i dont wanna get tricked for a fake is there anyway to identify the fakes on ebay?

I agree a Jordan graded RC would be the best to own - get in now while you can. There is only so many decent Jordan graded RCs. You can always collect an auto of his in the future, there are a lot around. Having said that, I wouldn't trade this beauty I have in a second (below). I love the: centering, size of auto, centering of auto on the floor (left/right, top bottom), how sharp/clean the auto is and the design of the card!

That is pretty close to my dream MJ auto as a UNC fan ;)

But yeah, I'd still take the RC.
