There is currently a listing for a Jordan 9.5 precious metal gems #18/100 (which is currently going for over 16K)

Now another listing has just popped up

Where it has some evidence that the card may have been trimmed.
Although the card achieved a BGS grade of 9.5 where they are meant to check more thoroughly, if the other listing is true, it certaintly looks trimmed.

I am curious to see how this develops. Chipping on the edges is extremely common on these cards. It''s amazing that a fine slither off some of the edges could take it rom maybe an 8 grade up to gem mint. And then since the prestige of the card, add another 15-25K to the potential price

Also this was sold (in what looked like gem mint condition) and before it was graded in early september

Definitely doesn't inspire confidence in slabbed cards does it? Can't say I'd be too happy if I was a BGS gold collector

The grade itself (for the card in the current auction) was given 11/20/2012, according to Beckett´s database. Because of that, there was no ungraded 018/100 PMG Red available at the time of the auction,
which was a couple of months ago, only.

Yeah I agree that auction looks dodgy

Someone on hobbykings said it was looked like rare23airs card. I think that confirms it. The back of the card for the auction is really low quality as well. All too dodgy

Probstein is the one who charged me $40 for shipping (international economy when it should have been express), didn't declare a customs value and didn't think to protect the card and has not replied to the ebay case opened last week as seen in this thread;

If you look at the feedback there is evidence of selling cards that have been trimmed. A volume seller for sure, but I can only give an opinion as to my dealings with them.

They replied to me as I asked about the authenticity of the card. They said they defer the validation to the people at Becket who have graded it.

Its unfortunate about the mullin card and am not surprised that they would choose not to reply. I imagine any dispute will be found in your favour. Although not sure how they may apportion damages or require you to return the card

That card has clearly been trimmed. Why would anyone spend 17k+ on it?

So it ended up at $17,400

A bidder with 24 feedback won the auction. That is not particularly encouraging as to being a bonafide sale. You'd expect people making such large purchases to have a bit more feedback and history on bidding on card...

At least the alleged trimming seems to have effected the sale price.
Perhaps a less dubious one would've fetched more?
