hi guys here's what happened, i placed a bid on a 4 card lot of SPX Marvin Williams winning materials(all different colours) last night from a seller who lives in SE Asia, my bid was around $11us and the winning bidder won em for $12.03(not bad i thought for cards worth about $60us), the winning bidder who was from Texas USA then decided to send me a e-mail that read like this:
"hey nice job jacking up ********* auctions all the time...how about you retract some of thos bids or ebay will be contacted"
i couldn't believe it! what a loser, i have only won 2 other auctions off this seller (which were a couple of danny grangers for my PC) in the past and the seller was a pleasure to deal with, i had to let rip on this guy and sent him a nice message back asking him to get a life and wake up
what would happen if he does decide to contact ebay? i told him ebay would probably laugh at him for wasting their time but the more i think about it the more im starting to worry, i know i have done nothing wrong but if this guy blows this up im not sure where it will go
his user name is: ac-n-mike (any1 else had issues with this clown?)
i personally think the guy got a fair square bargain at $12.03, i guess he wanted 4 cards for about $5us.....
i get heaps of people jacking up auctions i win but im cool with that, thats half the fun i reckon, sometimes you get some bargains, sometimes you might pay a little more than first expected but if your in it for the right reasons it shouldn't really matter
im not one to diss anyone but i just thought it was a little wierd having another bidder contact me asking to retract bids, i have as much right as him or anyone else in the world to put down bids on cards, isn't that the whole point of online auctions?
on a positive note this guy has been the only negative thing to happen to me on ebay for nearly 2 years so after reading some of the other heated discussions on the boards about ebay i find that im very lucky indeed
that is quite a surprising response, i have never had anything like that before. You could maybe report him to ebay for sending that email to you. But personally i think you have nothing to worry about.
Ebay will be contacted? And what the hell are they gonna do? They barely do anything about more annoying problems like postage/handling ripoffs, so they surely have no reason to do anything against SOMEONE BIDDING ON AN ITEM!!!
Your account has no connection to the sellers account, your IP address is from a different continent, this dude is obviously a complete moron. If eBay werent so useless, I would send the abusive email he sent you to them (with the header information) and get his sorry account banned. Especially if others here also have abusive emails from the tool that they can send as well.
Its just another reason why ozcards is different from the rest. This old beckett member is a moron and just doesn't get it. Plenty of eBayers like Kastria, Mexisar etc go for steals and sometimes it simply pushes up the price a little. Still bidding isn't against the rules is it.
