james naismith cut hits ebay

I'm actually shocked at how cheap it is right now. Early stages I know, but I mean THIS IS IT!! Rarer than an Michael Jordan RC Auto!

THAT is a Basketball MEMORABILIA!!!

It will be nice to have on anyone's collection but I would think that that one will go very expensive...

the holy grail of basketball autos....wow. :woot:

Im thinking two things here: either it will stay low and wont go for heaps, due to the fact naismith wasnt an NBA baller and most collectors probably wouldnt have a clue who he is.

or some of the REAL basketball purists will just go nuts and battle each other and push it into the thousands. if i had the money id be one those guys. my PC just aint complete without an auto of the guy who started it all.

Looks good! =D> Would look better if the numbering was printed/stamped. I'm thinking maybe UD didn't know how many of the cuts they'd eventually get?

Speaking of 'mother of all cut signature cards' has anybody else seen a pic of the Mother Theresa cut sig, it was pulled at the National Card Show a couple of weeks ago? I think it was inscribed 'God Bless You.'

I'm taking your option 1....

it will definitely go higher...

this guy is a genius.... at least, this should go 5g..

Einstein was a genius......this guy just invented a game !!!
I gotta say, I love basketball and how it came about but this card does nothing for me !

I can see why some people would love to own it though :)

Some would call him a genious Richo, without him, there's a possibility that we wouldnt even have heard of a guy called Michael Jordan, or another other Basketball Superstar.

There's also the chance that someone else could have invented it at some stage....

But I'd call it a serious investors card that one.

Richo,

haha love ur comment..
if this is, of course physics forum or electromagnetic website, i would say absolutely..

With the idea of playing indoor competitive ball while north America weather is 9/12 months cold in early 20 century, he made basketball game happened, he is a genius...to me.. :v:

at least, u won't be collecting Duhon if he never invented the game... :D

for me, Appreciation is a good for the soul.. even i can't imagine to own his auto....

In a point of view of hobby, a person who invented the game we love, he should be credited and worth something, since he's already dead long long time ago.....

I think that's what our hobbies are all about..... we value what we love...

Agreed Mavs......that is some serious "Investors Card"
I like it due to it's originality but it doesn't do it for me like a Jordan AU (lol).

For me a genius is a person of great intelligence, who shows an exceptional natural capacity of intellect so He STILL aint no genius (IMHO) ;)

That being said, you gotta love what he invented :D

That's a pretty average looking card for such a good autograph.

Also, that listing is terrible. They're going to lose cash because of how crap it is.

sweet card; ordinary looking design, but hey its a Naismith auto.

I reckon its going to hit over 4 grand, but they should have highlighted the auction, cos nobody would be looking for Naismith card on eBay.

now that's an auto card to have..... although the design isn't anything out of this world, but a James Naismith auto in anyones PC would be just amazing :worthy:!!!
