is this a little expensive??

Yes I think it is a little expensive, I paid 60 dollars for my set and all the cards were still sealed in their 3 separate subsets in the plastic insert in the folder, so yeh I think it is.

thats what i paid too, and same condition. thought it was a bit pricey, especially when there is a bin set going for $50 on ebay. another over-zealous buyer.

This is a complete rip. I feel sorry for the guy. Worth about the $50 mark. Ultra Premium Collectors Edition of 9000 - wow 9000, that's rare. I know there is a guy (i think on the Gold Coast) sitting on boxes and boxes of unopened ones he picked up in the liquidators sale when Dynamic went bust.

Interesting i had no idea there were 9000 of them, im surprised there arent more on ebay or floating around on here?

This raises an interesting question about what sets are worth from that era. Id love to know peoples opinions on the value of the 89,90,91,92,93 sets, say in very good condition (aka minor edge wear etc). So i can use it as a guide to finish my sets. Thanks

Most people back in the 1990's didn't realise the 'worth' in cards.. So most of the albums at some point would have been thrown out would be my guess..

As for the other sets.. MINUS FOLDERS.. Varies.. 88, 89 - Usually around $80-$120.. 90,91 - $75-$100.. 92 - $50-$75.. 93 - $50-$100.. These would be at the MOST for a mint set.. And I'd be seriously waiting for the down side of those prices rather than the up side.. They are actually more common than you think.. Wait for the cheap prices.. They will come to you eventually..

As for the folders.. These are so unpredictable.. It all goes HOW BAD you REALLY want it!!.. All I know is this.. 94 Masters/95 Series 2/96 Booster/96 Starter are on your more EXPENSIVE side for just the folders.. I've seen the 96 Booster/Starter go for more than $250 each with no cards.. Because they seem to be very limited in availability..

I agree with Noark-99 on prices but think the 88-9's perhaps worth a bit more. I've got spare 92($50dlvd), 93($65 dlvd) sets if anyone is interested.

Thanks for the replies Noark and Mischap, gives me a good guide to whats too much, its easy to lose track of what you are spending when collecting sets 1-2 cards at a time, I have chunks of the 90,91,91,93 sets and was wondering if its worth just buying another complete set rather than chasing cards and adding to the $$.

Those folder prices are extreme, i wish i had of redeemed those offers back in the day! It seems like the 96 set was when alot of people decided to stop collecting, I started collecting series 1 and then gave up.
