Thanks for looking, there seems to be a lot interest both here and on ebay in regards to redemptions of all levels. i have notice that there are a recent surge of listings of the higher end cards on ebay as well, now call me crazy but is there something happening with select or something? closing or what ever it just seems weird that all of a sudden there is all these redemptions and high end cards being sold of or requested. i have been informed by a guy i deal with privatley that there are a couple of dealers that are getting out of the nrl market and that there are some really good cards out there if you have the $$ to spare.
does any one here know anything?
I wouldn't say that I'm in the loop or anything but I haven't heard anything along the lines of what you are suggesting. Yeah, a few of the dealers out there are getting on in age so I suppose they're just hanging up their boots. I reckon you may be thinking too hard about it.
Look I think its a case of dealers are trying to turn over some dollars, I know of some dealers who have had high end redemption's stashed away and now it seems they are coming out because there has not been a lot to turn over as far as cards go. I mean with no a-league, no cricket and no NRL series 2 people are looking to kick their business along.
Secondly there has been an increase, I believe, in older boxes, there seems to be a lot of 2006 invincible and 2005 power now floating around from what I have seen, with no current release product, older boxes are being had and some nice redemptions are coming out of them which are hitting the market to tide dealers over until the 2011 series hits the streets

you could be right also Dave, dealers trying to stretch out their turnover, but it could be like mischa says thinking to hard about it or just reading to much into it all lol
as for your 6ft high wooden spoon the only reason we would need it is to dig a 6ft hole as we'll need to bury the teams we destroy over the coming season...
Well there are whispers Select are struggling (why else would they cancel so many releases?) and that might be one reason. Look at their Ashes set too, that seems to have totally bombed.
The other reason I can see is that Select aren't producing any new high quality cards so the demand for older ones will increase.
