Is Posting "Too Much" A Problem??

Hey Guys.

Have had a few members approach me about posting too much, about unrelated topics and posting "stupidly". Some have approached me on this board in their own comments and some through other sources such as emails and msn. These are not offensive (yet), but if problems occur i will definately be out of here.

I honestly think it's quite unfair. I believe that in the beginning i was spamming a lot, while now I hardly do as much.

It's ironic that our "beloved" members here approach me about posting too much when I have barely even posted this week and have only signed on about 3 times this week. I'm getting a bit sick of some of the attitudes held by certain members and their freedom to "prosecute" if you will others. This has already been reflected by what JJ said in his departure posts.

But on the topic of me posting too much, let's see. I post in maildays just to say "good mailday" or "good gu's!" or "good zo!!" and I post in the NBA section where I definately talk a well-read/informed game and that's definately not spam.

Tell me what you guys really think of how I operate on this forum instead of being all smiles and then giving me crap when the others are not around.

I say post away. If people start to get scared off from posting what will we have to talk about? As long as its ON TOPIC with the thread then there shouldn't be a problem.

Posting should be simple, if you have something to say about the thread, post a reply. Otherwise it wouldn't be a forum.
All you have to do is ask yourself, am I replying to get my post count up? If the the answers yes, or you have to look at your post count before deciding, then don't post, lol.
I don't have posting issues with you Jim, we all know in the start you were going a bit haywire though.

Mate, I would continue posting away, if there is a problem with what you are doing, Im sure one of the moderators will let you know!

Im guessing that if none of them have said anything, continue to post as per normal.

One thing I think people forget is, that its not about how many posts you have, but what you are saying in them.

I am guilty of the odd "Nice card" but I am trying to limit posts like these to a minimum.

I enjoy your posts Jimbo. You have a pretty broad knowledge when it comes to NBA and you seem in a perpetually happy mood You also like Zo which is tops with me. There are moments where you may waffle on a bit but I think we're all guilty of that.

Jimbo, I assume your talking about my piss take in Gmans mailday thread.
This was obviously a piss take from when you posted a few weeks ago in a thread and it was obvious you didn't read the content first. Gmans thread was a joke so I thought the joke I cracked about your post was obvious that it was just that, a joke.

I think as long as what is posted adds to the thread, and not just rehashes someone else's opinion, you should be fine. Just remember that reading 20 or so posts that say "good work" or "well done" gets repetitive or boring. In those cases, maybe include what you like about the card in your reply.

This is a messageboard/forum, i dont see the problem with posting a lot (as long as its on topic) Shoes was way overboard posting crap but nobody else ive noticed is anything like that, and i like you posting jimbo somtimes u are the only one that posts on my mailday thread LOL

Definately wasn't you, you and me mate, we're 100% fine.

And to the rest of you guys. I was just wondering, because I find it very fun to search around the boards and talk NBA with you guys as well as seeing great cards. Lately I've been taking a break from buying because I wanna save up some $ and am losing the passion of collecting. I mean, I love collecting but when your in High School and $$ is low, sometimes you gotta save up.

What I'm basically saying is that some of my interest for collecting has been lost but I still like to make it to the boards. BUT, if you find that you don't like me, I'll just go as it'll be no loss to me.

well when you started on oz cards you could of been called a post whore , but you defiantly have cleaned up your act.
post whoring is posting a insane ammount a posts per day like shoes did, hijaking threads with material that isnt related to the topic and submitting heaps of short posts that dont really need to be made unless you are sending a compliment for someones mailday/week.

I must say that over the last year, we've had a fine group of members who can be quite encouraging at the right times! (AKA, everyone who has responded to this thread except for 'Tallica). Thanks Metallica.. means a lot from a member from the previous website and forums.
