Hi guys, I need some help here.. looking to buy an Ipod video, I don't know much about them, and need some help

* I have a few songs on MP3, can these be put onto ipod or do you have to purchase the songs?

* Can I import mpeg or avi to ipod?

If theres anything you can tell me, that'd be great..

yeah i own one. You can import downloaded music to your Ipod through the program Itunes that comes with the product.
Also with the mpeg vids they need to be converted and i use the program 3GP Converter, very easy to use.
The Ipod Video is awesome and good value for money in my opinion, can fit like 10, 000 songs and loads of videos (movies, film clips, tv shows)

You dont need to spend money to buy content for your Ipod, you can just put your downloaded music onto its 30GB harddrive. It also has an external hard-drive which comes in handy when you want to take files to peoples houses.

hope that helps.

agreed with metallica, video ipod is brilliant and money well spent,i have one and have about 4,000 songs at the moment and about 100 or so music videos

there $449 i think and if you get cheaper than that your doing pretty well

hope that helps

i Cant remember where i got it from, best type in 3GP_converter at google, if you cant find it ill send it to you.
yer same wallace i got over 100 vids and about 2000 songs.
hold a shite load, you could store over 10 full length movies aswell

mines the 30 GB! that's more than enough i still have heaps of room on it. And will cost you about $450, you might be able to get it a little bit cheaper but around that.

Apple actually control the prices of the Ipods...Ive got a mate who works for JB Hi Fi...he can get everything at cost price, apart from Ipods.

So usually you'll only see a few dollars different between stores (ie $450, $449)

I really wanted one, but settle just for a 512 creative muvo...does the job for on the train, holds enough tunes for a while...which reminds me I should update my song list!

another great music/video player is the IRIVER PMP. I was going to get one they retail at about $800 in australia but you can win them off ebay for proablly around $400 delivered. Ive heard music through them and they let out a preety kick ass sound. Also the screen is like 2 times bigger than the Ipod video.

the best bet for pricing is to purchase it thru the apple.com.au site and use the student discount. if u know any uni students then u can abuse....i mean take advantage of the savings

My bro just bought an Brand new Ipod Video 60gb on eBay for $470. Was that a good price? The noob gets his first payslip and buys this hehe.

It's coming in today so I'll have a look at it tonight.

thats pretty good, seeing as its $598, and take the student discount makes it about $538. he got pretty lucky with that as most of them on ebay end up being near the $500 mark.
then again, im not sure if he gets the warranty and all that with it.

Ok its a different seller... but cmon whitey, check the payment options... seller is from HK, and wont accept Paypal or DD... well Im assuming that since he/she selected "other".

Let us know how you go, but it looks dodgey to me.
