IPhone Question

Got given a 2nd hand Iphone 8gb, have wireless on it so can connect from home network, just set up my hotmail email account...
What i want to know is how can i download a word.docx from Hotmail onto the phone to keep permanantly like an icon app....

Download it with your computer then put it onto your iPhone via iTunes.

There are actually many ways you can do this.
- there are many apps that allow you to store documents on the phone.
- you can transfer from the computer store it on the phone and call it up via the browser window ( may have to jailbreak for this )
- MobileMe can do host documents via the web (cloud computing), MobileMe is 99$ a year.
- Google Docs is another way (best way IMO) free and you can link a home screen icon to it.

i have an app document reader and usb disk both do the same thing via what outlaw said.

dropbox is another awesome app for hosting files like this and it's free.

As for setting it as an icon, don't think you can do that. Apparently if it is jailbroken you can with a little bit of tweaking:

yes i was going to say you could do what billy linked you to do. if you need more help with it pm me i just didnt mention it because last time i mentioned somethign to do with jailbreaking an ipod i got an infraction thing.

Hi Guys thanks for all the info, because it was a simple text document, all i did was copy it straight into an email, then logged on to hotmail via Iphone, copied all the text, then downloaded a free app called "Documents Free (Mobile Office Suite) by savy soda pty ltd, pasted into the document and now i have my NRL card want list on the phone which can be viewed offline, no internet connection required..
