As I was unaware this was required part of the process a little more about me
I'm Doug from Melbourne have been collecting since 1994. I started collecting mainly cricket as a hobby in school but quickly found it becoming an addiction i was unable to support and stopped.
I started back into the trade in 2000 finishing off a few subsets of the 94-95 series moving into the 98-99 retail and hobby series. As I'm someone that needs to complete sets the desire for the 98-99 bradman begun and it was not long before I found it.
From there I moved into AFL and started on the 2001 captains series which didn't take to long to acquire 17 of 18 from the set.
In 2004-2005 I started losing interest in collecting mainly due to the cost involved and sold my captains.
As I don't have the passion I once did I have decided that the time is right to find my collection a new home
Welcome aboard Doug, that's quite an intro! The cricket section only started up about 18 months ago on this site but there are a number of us willing to help you out.
Can i ask with your 98/99 Bradmans - did you pull them both from boxes you bought or buy them along they way? Card Zone says that 5 of the 50 Bradmans were put into the hobby boxes - do you know if there is any truth to that theory?
I did at one time have a good relationship the Steve from card zone and he confirmed this via info from the manufacture.
I did in fact "PULL" one from a pack in the only box I bought. I bought the box based on its number in relation to Bradman itself. The box number was 3340 so I took the punt on "334" index and it paid off. The other Bradman I bought before "PULLING" the other.
I still have the box and the pack the Bradman come in.
Welcome to the forum Doug.
I like you started collecting in 1994. I stopped collecting for 10 years.
Have kicked back into collecting in a big way.
Maybe keep your collection, i wouldn't mind betting your interest will peek again one day.
