Increasing the "send first" feedback amount

Just a suggestion that I'm sure will cause a debate. Was thinking maybe we should increase the send first amount from 5 feedback to maybe 10? Seems like that 5 is still a bit low to judge how good of a trader a person is. Seen a few traders from here of late lose out to new traders. Yes, they should've got the new trader to send first, and maybe that should be reminded to all also. Just throwing the idea around, interested to see what others think.

I dont think the amount of feedback before you send makes any difference for postage standards becuase it is more about the "unknown"

There are all types of things done here to save a Dollar...

In the example of your experience, would it have been just as easy to get your money back including post, send the card back and Leave a NEG which i am sure you have done.

What does a NEG feedback mean anyway or positive for that matter

If you want to change the feedback system it should be like this,

Selling goods- 10 positive feedbacks fm trades only (not buys)

Trading goods- leave it as it is because it works, you can always negotiate who sends 1st when you do the deal anyway

Buying- Free for all (I do think the buyer should have to post the thread for buying, if they then pull out of the deal that has been agreed on by both parties,
then a NEG option to the seller should be available to Filter out the Time wasters !!!)

Was never reffering to "my situation". Take the Durant35 scenario's, do you realise how many other members have been left with cards because of him after they sent? I think it will make a huge difference.

5 is just a number and really all members should use their own judgement.

We are in the middle of writing some hard and fast "site rules" and will gladly take it into consideration.

Sorry if the reference caused offence, I totally agree regarding the situation with Durant35 but changing the number of feedbacks will never deter a criminal from ripping you off, they just seem to find another way to do it... what if someone with 50 or 100 pos feedbacks rips a heap of people off...
Maybe there could be a register of everyones D/L numbers (no other details of course).... they can always be referred to by the police in the bad cases

You're right about it being fool proof, that will never happen. There will always be that 1% out there looking to take advangtage of others. But at least with a higher number of feedback first, you will reduce the risk at the very least, and the new member will have time to build a reputation.

100 % true, it is a pitty that we all have to deal with more rules/laws because of the bad ppl out there

You only had to the look at Durant and the way he went about posting to see you should of tread more carefully and quite frankly he was lucky he was around here long enough to get any trades done.

In the end the honesty of the trader to send when they say they said is the most important thing and its just about impossible to police but at least we don't have repeat rip off offenders on here. If new members have mulitiple trades going it doesn't hurt to say the trade is on hold and cards held for you on the basis the other members get their cards and deal went smoothly. That would only hold you up a week if cards are sent quickly and if the new trader is a good one they would have no worries about proving themselves. Its just a little bit of initiative to get it done and work out.
