Guys,
We were going to pass the hat around and buy some flowers for Rons wife and family. But Naz has spoken to Rons wife and there was a suggestion we could make a donation on behalf of the members on Ozcards to the Cancer Council.
Anyone interested in chipping in? Members can send money to us and we will make the donation on behalf of OZCT.

Thanks guys, i won't post the total until we have final figures but already the contributions are coming in steadily. I will close it nrxt Friday at 7pm and send off our donation then.
Richo,
It's much better if you make the donation to OZCT and then we send a combined donation. I say this because we can combine the amount, for example a $100 donation on behalf of the community looks much better than 20 X $5. We can send a card on behalf of the ozcards community with the donation receipt, in there we can acknowledge the people or number of people who donated and as well all know it's a great cause so any amount is greatly appreciated.

RIP ron
I haven't been on the site for 6- 8 weeks. I had known he had been sick for years but he always played it down to me. Typical old school "she'll be right" sort of bloke. Helped me out in a lot of ways not just with collecting but with his spirit and putting a smile on my face with his emails.
I don't know what to say, sad that I didn't get a chance to pass my condolencses on to him while he was alive and angry at myself for not keeping in touch with him recently, glad he is free from pain and he won't be forgotten by me.
RIP Ron
After just seeing this I was going through some of our old email conversations where we were talking about his treatment and that he was on the improve back in 2010, but that he had sight in one eye only due to the bastard cancer.
This sums up Ron perfectly, he sent this back as an attachment in his email reply...

Agreed but I lost an Aunt to cancer a few years back and her family requested the same thing....so I know you can leave a personal message for the passed member when you leave your donation so I would prefer to personalise my donation as I did for my Aunt.
At the end of the day it ALL goes to the same worthy cause.
Condolences to the family He was a top bloke and helped me out heaps with my Collection on numerous occasions. I will be making a donation of some sort.
