Image Resolutions

Hey guys. I wanna hear what resolution you use when you scan your cards. I went for 1200 and its taking ages.. lol.

WHOA. I can full see the magnified ink on the autos... too big.

I do mine at 300 and resize afterwards cause its way too big

300dpi is perfect for print
96dpi is fine for web (even 72dpi can work)

Looks nice, good detail - depends what you want to do with it ..

Generally I go for 600 dpi, and rescale the longest side of card (or scan) to 500 pixels (constraining the ratio). This results in jpg's around 200k (give or take 10%)

As Graham said, it depends what the intended use is. Mine will eventually be linked to my homepage, so they are a decent full size pic.
