Clearly there are people out there much angrier than me...!

This jerkoff drives up really fast behind me, backs off and does it again, so I called him a ****er via hand signals. He then did it again and give me the finger, so I signalled again. We were then stopped at the lights behind a few cars and I saw him getting out of his car, so I locked the doors (central locking, thank goodness). He grabbed a cricket bat (or similar) from the boot, then tried to open my door. He then smacked the side of my car with the bat - thankfully the window didn't even crack, the light was green so I gunned it out of there, cutting into the 2nd lane... left me very shaky, and shocked at the patheticness of this guy....

I think I am going to be a much more mellow person after this experience..!!

Annoying thing is that I have two hockey sticks in my boot, I just knew I couldn't get to them because of other stuff I was moving today... Kinda wish I'd reversed into his car after he hit mine, but just wanted to get away

LOL someone angrier?

Glad everything turned out o.k, there's plenty of nut jobs on the road. I find a clublock in the car is good insurance for these occasions ;)

New Zealand's a troubled country when it comes to crime.. :(

What unlike Aus?

Dammit I actually do have one of those on the floor in the back... but really, probably for the best that I didn't take him on, for all I know he could be in a gang or have a gun or something...

I wanted to go over the curb and just get away but I didn't think there was enough room where the traffic light pole was

I hear you mate, you never know these days if the dummy will pull a knife or gun on you. I think you did what was best, im sure he'll be put in his place by someone sooner or later

geez, that is horrible, some crazy people out there!!

Probly the best thing to do was to gun it out of there,
no point getting out and getting into a fist fight .. especially as this dude just seemed crazy and was armed.

Got his plate?

While he was out of his car, you should have backed into his, nice and hard before gunning away.

These days you need to be very careful when you drive, whether you have done something or nothing at all.

yer u should of got his plates and reported it. or if you have police mates find out where he lives and trash his car

Sadly no, I was looking at him in the rearview rather than the plate. I am a bit cocky I suppose, gesturing etc but I never thought that it would eventuate to this...
And the problem was that at the lights there were at least 3 cars in each lane ahead of me so I had nowhere to go until after he hit me. THEN I should have reversed into him (I really regret not doing that) but just wanted to get away fast..

I guess driving on the road when you encounter an aggressive driver you should treat it a bit like the agro guy at the put or nightclub ! When you see someone like that and you are not prepared to go in head first, i would suggest keeping hand signals or swearing at them to yourself ;)

99% of the time it takes 2 to tango !
