I want to get into the NRL so can some of you NRL fans tell me the basics of the game? Like the postions on the feild, rules etc. I go for the Strom seeing I live in Melbourne. So yer thanks guys.
The NRL consists of 16 teams. The regular season goes for 26 rounds & 4 finals rounds. If a game is tied it goes to extra time instead of this replay bullsh!t. A game goes for 80 minutes (2 40 min halves). NRL cards are better than AFL cards. But most importantly, Storm are cheats!

DW8 if you want someone to explain it to you i can give you a mate's email address hes been refin for well over 12 years now, so pretty sure he would be able to answer any questions you have regarding that side of the game. Also if you have any game related questions ask me played it for around 6 years.
Ive followed rugby league my whole life, and loved playing it when I was younger. Even my daughter plays in the local competition, so the whole family is rugby league crazy ill try to explain it for you, but I think watching a game might make it clearer for you.
Basically there are 13 players on the field then 4 on the bench (reserves) in each game for each side.
1. Fullback
2. Right wing
3. Right centre
4. Left centre
5. Left wing
6. Five-Eighth
7. Halfback
8. Prop
9. Hooker
10. Prop
11. Second row
12. Second row
The scoring system is simple, 4 points for a try (grounding the ball over the opposing team's goal line), 2 points for a conversion (a kick between the posts after a try or on a penalty) and 1 point for a field goal (a kick between the posts during the game).
Each game goes for 80 minutes (which consists of two 40 minute halves). If the scores are level at 80 minutes, extra time comes into play to declare a winning team. When passing a ball it can only be in a backward or sideways direction – if the ball is passed forwards a penalty is given to the opposition. The attacking team gets a maximum of 6 tackles before the ball is handed over to the opposition.
