is this trade fair, who is on the better end?

I get:

Shannon Hurn Draft pick (series 1- not the signature one)- afltcc price- $10.53

The other member gets:

Paul Medhurst Star Gem- afltcc price- $9.92

What do u think?

clearly the rookie is worth a little more than the gem.... i wouldnt say it was a rip off but not exactly a fair trade.... i definetly would not be considering the trade...

People arnt always going to get trades where the cards are the exact same value right down to the cents...
If both parties want each others cards, whats $2 dollars or so matter when your getting something you want in return?

why though? 61 cents more! If the other member thought that was a rip off i would send the 60c off to him as well

yeah exactly mate. Especially when the member needs the SG bad and i don't really need the Hurn but it would be good. I am just trying to help him out

if the other member doesnt want to trade than you cant force him lol, ask them to come up with something a bit different in trade terms, something YOU BOTH AGREE ON.... pretty simple, no point having a winge about it..

cards are worth what the market is willing to pay.
I have seen gems sell for as low as $4-5 and have seen rookies including hurn only go for $7 - $8.

Can't just judge cards with a book value in my opinion,
i know i'd much prefer the Hurn though...

My point is this sort of stuff can be dealt with without starting a thread.
Do some research instead of airing out every trade you do.

This the first time i have done this type of thread. I have done the research on afltcc, eBay etc

hey mate, just some advice which most would find useful, instead of using afltcc for the prices as most of us know its wrong half the time, try search both cards in the completed listings in the advanced search ebay best way to find what a card is worth, as for the deal yes it is fair i only payed $7 for my hurn rookie a couple of weeks ago so the medhurst would probably be worth abit more but its hard to say,

because hurn is from a while back and medhurst is this year i would say there the same. btw medhurst is better than hurn:p. pies 4 premiers 2009

Its definetly not wrong,it clearly states how its gets its info, and on that info it comes up with an average price. though the price is not gospel it is an indicator....
