Hi Everyone,
I have been an avid collector of basketball cards for many years. I remember as a child receiving pocket money from my mum and instead of buying lunch or candy all I wanted to do was open a fresh pack of fleer/upper deck and hoping to find my favorite players inside. Every weekend I would bug my parents to take me to Swapmeet or my local comic shop that was the only place that sold cards nearby.
20 years later, that passion of collecting cards has resurfaced. I started to do some research, and the card game has changed dramatically. There was a time during the 2000 Sydney Olympic I bought tickets to the basketball hoping to see some of my favorite NBA players. I also brought my collection of cards hoping to be lucky enough to get one of their autographs but the only tickets I was able to get was Lithuania vs New Zealand, and I was crushed.... lo and behold I opened my first box earlier this year and was shocked to pull an autograph card of my favorite player Hakeem "the dreammm" Olaaajuwwooonn. I reconnected with my old mates that collected cards with me back in the day and this year although our meetings are few and far between we reminisce and look forward to showing each other our latest additions to our collection that brings me to this site. They have told me that Ozcardtrader is the best community for cardboard collectors, and I am excited to be part of it.
Cheers
