Well AUPOST has let me down big time. As you all prolly realise I am a big collector of Broncos cards............no you say, really............well yes I am, and I have always wanted to complete my 1990 and 1991 Streets / Sunday Mail Broncos cards. Well I have been searching for years for the final four cards for each set (see the pic):

Well I finally found them at 2 dollars each from a fella in Brisbane, he packaged them up sent them to me and all I got was the envelope torn open by a sorting machine and the receipt...........no cards, so if you ever see these cards anywhere, please let me know.

Cheers

Err how lame. I bet you were furious.
Same sort of thing happened to me, I sold 8088edge a Folau TP and sent it Registered. He sends me a photo of a ripped padded envelope with Australia Post "Damaged" tape around it and told me thats all he got.
BTW the Paypal finding was in his favour

First up, that's just awful and painful to hear. That you are a Brisbane Bronocs fan I mean; the stuff about the cards isn't great either.

Did Mr Brisbane Card Sender send the cards in just a normal envelope or a bubble mailer, because I've found that bubble mailers are impervious to the dreaded mailer sorter's jaws of death

Matt, I did not know that George Mikan was the original superstar for the National Beef Association.............well, you learn something new every day. The cards were sent in a white envelope........dammit

Mikan was quite the Beef star.

White envelopes are the worst thing to have cards sent in; I've had many a card ripped to shreds in a white envelope. It's a shame it happened to cards that were your white whale. Little bit of ironic symmetry to that.

And re the Brisbane Broncos; at least you aren't a Manly fan.

Weren't you able to make a claim with Australia Post?

Weren't you able to make a claim with Australia Post?

Australia Post will find anyway they can to NOT pay your claim. A few months ago I received post and in that post was a signed photo of Angelina Jolie, marked across the front was Photo - Do Not Bend, anyway the posted folded it up to put in the letter box, when I complained, they said that they do not have to comply with their own advice............sheez, I have also been advised that any claim with AUPOST for these missing cards may not be paid out as they were sent in a white envelope, problem is they were taken to a corporate post office and accepted over the counter like that but if they stuff it up then they go of well, not out problem. It is very difficult to win with them me thinks.

Stuff me that sucks, they really are pathetic, the joliie pic result is the same as those posters i sent you, they really should be made accountable for their sub standard service.

Yea it's happened to me as well, through ebay, auspost did not really care about my problem.all you got to do Dave is just touch your toes and cop it sweet.funny how i need all of those cards to complete my sets, they must be rarer than the others.
cheers

I have found if you ring them up(corporations) and complain and they do nothing, tell them (if your in Sydney) that you will be going straight to Alan Jones / Ray Hadley and complaining on national Radio, you would be surprised that alot of these companies don't want to get offside with those two, not to mention that Jones / Hadley probably know the executives of those big corporations...

They are hard to come by Peter, I have been looking for those for years.

I remember about five years ago I sent a DVD to a guy in England through standard post, it was worth 60 bucks ... he claimed he never received it (although it was very sus, because I never received the payment he said he sent through the mail, and for some reason I sent the DVD anyway? Too trusting back then!). But anyway, I claimed it back through NZ Post and they paid up, but just told me to send things like that through registered post in future.

So the moral is ... maybe you should live in NZ, Justin.

same experience for me.. aus post will try and find a way out.

i sent a registered post item that never made its way past the local mail DC - it was lost after being scanned in.

I had the registered post orange slip filled in and stamped when i sent the item as proof of registering but they wouldnt pay the claim because i bought a box of 100 registered labels previously - and because i had previously also bought a booklet of stamps - so i didnt have a machine printed receipt saying i posted mail or paid for registered mail on the day i posted !

is that ridiculous or what ??????

Hey there

I have those cards here both sets and might have some singles laying around if your still interested.

Damn right I would be................ :)

what has fair trading got to say about it?

I have not considered fair trading yet BUT, the fella I bought them from went to the Underwood Post Office and was brushed off, he has lodged a complaint with the Ombudsman. One of the matters in the complaint is the double standards used by AUPOST. This fella is in the post office all the time sending cards in white envelopes and the staff take the money and all is good, but when the claim come thru they state that white envelopes are only for printed matter not cards. He replied, cards are printed matter........this is getting bigger than Ben Hur.

That's terrible Dave. I must admit I've been pretty lucky but do have 1 story. I had 4 packages sent from my bro in the UK, containing books for the Mrs. All the same wt and size. 1 package arrived after 1 week, 2 after another 3 weeks, and the last another 2 months after that. Don't know if it was Royal or Aus post but how could there be 3 months from first to last package to arrive when all were posted at the same time?
