Hi folks....
Here are a few jersey #'d cards I've picked up lately, most of them due to help from my US mate Patrick the LJ collector....he's been helping me out a lot with an increasing amount of US only auctions...
Anyway he helped me win this little item...
A sweet idea this - tells u the season and size as well as a pick of the jersey the swatch is from...a shame UD never did this....
I also have this one which is #21/50....
The same seller also had this sweet looking card.....
Patrick sent this one and the next as a gift. He'd helped me purchase a pile of collecting cases and a folder etc and in amongst it was also this very nice booklet!
Without his help I'd be about 20-30 cards less in my collection. He's coming to NZ next year which we're both looking forward to!
Just yesterday I got this shiny little number in....
I love the gold /25 versions from 06-07 Elevation... I also have this one
which is #21/99
and this sweet gold one..
FINALLY - this card has some drama attached...
Another KG collector who I know well decided to sell off a few of his KG exquisite cards... he had 16 versions of the same card! When I found out I asked if the jersey #'d version was available and he made a VERY generous offer. I talked to my financial advisor (wife) who amazingly agreed, easily making this the most I have spent on a card...
Because we knew each other so well I sent the $ as a gift and looked forward to the card arriving in time for my birthday..and waited and waited and waited....
..and waited....
..and waited...
Poor Eric and I were packing ourselves as we hadn't used registered shipping.... NEVER AGAIN!!!!
Anyway after about 25 days I came home to my wife waving a package with glee! Eric was just about to refund my money which would have been awful....
On the front of the pacakge was my address written perfectly and a big red stamp which read
'CORRESPONDENCIA MAL ENCAMINADA AL ECUADOR (Correspondence misdirected to Ecuador!)
I dunno how USPS did that but it caused us a lot of angst!! Eric and I certainly learned our lesson!
Anyway without further ado, my 20th #21 auto and my 7th Exquisite card....
I now need just 1 jersey card to reach 100 game used #21 jersey cards and of course one more auto for 21 of those....
