Hi all,
Something unrelated to cards. I bought an xbox360 plus 17 games and paid a small fortune for it. I ended up receiving it today but to my shock all the games were fakes. This is what the seller had to say when i asked him about it:

Hello Gary
The day you won the auction I sent you an email advising you that the games weren't original & the xbox had a firmware upgrade. I also said if you had any questions about it to let me know.
Everyone that asked me questions of this on ebay were advised aswell & thought that most people would read my answers to any questions

Scotty

WTF???? I didn't get an email and besides, isn't it against the law to sell pirated games????

if ur not happy i would ask for a refund and if he refuses u can always use the illegal games to get it refunded.

obviously he's some massive scammer who never notified you about the truth of the product. get him bad dude, he doesn't deserve whatever you paid for that item!!

umm... well, it sucks... but mod costs a bit too, i think it's not too bad if u know how to get pirated x360

well, it's not my thing to discuss about pirated, so go get ur money back LOL

I experienced a similar problem but with a lot of Box set DVD's.
I reported them to the Bay and i received a refund and kept the items after i was told to destroy them. Good Luck.

Let us know how you go.....I would be interested to see what he does as I had a similar situation with a DVD and as soon as I said I would report him to Police & the pirate hotline he coughed up the dough !

Well I couldn't even list a chipped PSOne console on eBay so they take a VERY strict stand on it. I think it's because of their liability for selling pirated goods.

I work at The Trading Post online and we have a similar stance. Although with us you can use the word "modified" but you can't say what the "modifcations" do. Crazy. We have a whole department set up for the policing of it...

Mark.

Got a link to the Auction?

Certainly be demanding a refund, and also report to Authorities. You would have gotten their name/address as a winning bidder if you had to post your payment to them.

Yeh thanks for all your advice. Its not the first time ive been ripped on ebay but then again i didn't spend as much as $800 on anything before.

I love this zany reply from him last night:
Here is the message I sent you.
I thought you buying for someone else as a present the only reason I can see that you are not happy is that you want to sell it yourself & try to make a little extra money. If you really have problem with it send it back...or sell it on ebay like I did.

Hello Gary..
I have been telling tell all that have asked me questions on ebay about the xbox that I have recently found out that the unit has had a firmware upgrade & all the games are copies as I received this xbox as payment for a debt & wasn't aware of any of this as the games look oringinal but I have tested most them & they all work fine. Sorry for not mentioning this in the add.
Any questions get back to me.

Scotty

Tell him you're going to the cops and see where that gets you. I'd seriously be reporting him to ebay and all the relevant authorities, he's ****ed if you do. I've got nothing against pirated stuff cause games are ridiculously overpriced, but to sell stuff as if it is real and send pirated stuff in it's place is disgraceful. I got ****ed over on ebay for some dvds in a similar fashion.

That listing says that they are 6 months old, "AS NEW"... new doesnt mean PIRATED....

Gary, take him to the woodsheds mate, you'll get your money back, and he'll get his balls chopped!

I'd be reporting him to Ebay, then to the Cops. Hopefully you have his address details from when you made payment so you can send the details on to the Authorities.
