Evening everyone, thought I'd better drop a line and tell you a little about myself.
I've been collecting for several years on and off, and have decided that my collection needs a little attention.
Mostly I have collected AFL cards from mid 90's to now, though there is some other stuff I have hoarded over the years. So I have come to the conclusion that I should concentrate my collection primarily on Geelong, along with a few subsets.
I may also make a quest for Robert Campbell cards as he is an old mate of mine, as well as some carlton for another old mate.
I will get my want and trade lists up shortly and hopefully I can help a few people out and they can recipricate.
Anyway, I've wasted enough of your precious time for now, so I bid you all a fine evening.
On my way to visit the family each year I always stop off at Rutherglen, it's a nice little part of the world and I always go out of my way to visit that bakery on main street...mmmmmmmm pies.
Do you still keep in contact with big Robert Campbell?
Yeah I do catch up with him every now and then, but not as nearly as much as I'd like to. But that's the way life is, different paths and so forth. Plays his 100th in a couple of weeks, probably the first week of the finals, which is nice.
Those pies are over-priced and over-rated, though they used to make awesome chips.
Welcome from one Border Boy to another!! You'll love this site; everyone is very welcoming!!
Are you still on the Border or have you fled like my good self?? I grew up all around Rutherglen; started in Lavvy, then onto Rutherglen then went to Corowa, Howlong, Wahgunyah, Chiltern and finally the big smoke...Wodonga!
Actually, I quite enjoy living in Rutherglen, but unfortunately I will probably have to depart at the end of the year for employment - I'm studying Radio Broadcast Journalism, and unfortunately the 'Glen is lacking in the station stakes. Most likely destination is Albury/Wodonga as my better half aready works up there and it's the epicentre of Maquarie Regional Radio - which does the majority of the nations commercial regional broadcast.
I dislike cities, give me fresh air and green pastures ahead of smog and concrete lego-lands any day.
The most amusing thing I find in regional areas is half the people whinge about how there is nothing to do, then the only thing different they do when they move to the big smoke is go out clubbing instead of pubbing. Some people are always bored I guess.
To all those who think the country is dull - learn to make your own fun!
