How much more value is a jersey numbered card?

Always love a good serial number and been thinking lately how much more value would one put on a jersey numbered card? Is there a guideline (double, triple value) or completely up to bidders...

Example - MJ base gold /100 worth $50, but numbered 23/100 worth $???

No need to disclose the sale price just a factor multiple compared to the normal /61 versions?

Also needs to be taken into consideration how revered this set is coupled with being Jordan and jersey numbered. If it was say, chandler parsons jersey numbered auto then I would say only around 1.5x regular same card.

This. The rules that apply for a Jordan card wouldn't be the same for all cards. There's so many collectors that exclusively collect Jordan cards no. 23/XX

More collectors=more competition=higher sale price.

I agree with the 1.5x factor. I could see a basic player $50 card, selling for around the $70-$80 mark. Again, all depends on how many (and how badly) collectors want the card.

Also, there's those few players that will never have jersey numbered cards (eg. OJ Mayo, Arenas, etc)

haha I know the factor and it was a fair bit more than that (at the time those cards were selling for).


For normal players 1.5 to 2 is probably a good indicator. Some rare guys may fetch up to 3x id say.
 
It definitely depends on the player. Recently I noticed a couple of Kemp jersey numbered cards go for way higher. I think jersey numbered cards are cool to have, but I wouldn't pay much extra for them personally.

That being said, what sort of value do you place on a jersey numbered item for someone who changes their number a lot? IE, someone like Duncan has always worn 21, but someone like Shaq wore about 6 different numbers? I know people count 12 and 45 as Jordan jersey numbered cards but does anyone really count those?
 
the main part of my collection is Jersey numbered cards!! and yeah they would normally have a higher value than just a plain numbered card!! As in a way... it's a 1/1 as it's the only one numbered to the same as the jersey!!

But it's really up to the buyer if they want to pay the extra and also the seller who may want to raise the price up for the occasional jersey numbered collector who would pay the premium!!

I know I used to!! But after a while and being known everywhere as "the Andre Iguodala Jersey numbered crazy collector", I had sellers boosting the prices up ridiculously... which made me get sick of the hobby, as others seemed to be just taking advantage!! So hence why I just stopped collecting for a good 4 years or so!! haha!!

So yeah some will pay the premium... but that's only if the collector truly wants that particular card... coz we can simply get a different number for much less!! haha
 
Can be anywhere from 100% to 300%

In saying that, with panini pushing out so many parallels, there are far more jersey # cards.

For example. 90s set usually /100

Now, parallels /99, /50, /25

Good point, for me whatever jersey number they're wearing on the card photo has to reflect the serial number. So a photo of kobe in his number 24 jersey with the serial 24/50 is cooler than 08/50.

Could just be a case of the seller not realising that the card is jersey numbered. I picked up a jersey numbered Kris Humphries patch card for cheap off eBay once. Wasn't mentioned anywhere in the description or title that it was jersey numbered.

seller possibly doesn't care about that when listing the price, or just a case of on COMC you can't advertise as "1/1 Jersey Numbered #d, ebay 1/1, player jersey numbered woooooooohooooo"

you actively have to go through and look at the numbering of the card in small print
