How do you collect?

Was thinking of another topic earlier, (not this one) which lead me on to this one.

Anyways, as a collector, how do you collect?

Do you:

1 - Collect a bit of everything

2 - Chase High End only

3 - Collect Autos/GU/Patch only

4 - RC year stuff only

5 - Try to get everything and anything you can

For me, I would say, #1.

I collect a bit of everything. I don't have any memorabilias such as jerseys, shoes and all of that though. Cards only.

What I did, when I first started collecting cards again, I was to grab the higher-end one most of the time because the way I was thinking back then, if I don't grab it then, I wouldn't have a chance to grab it now. So I'm real glad about that because I'm very happy with my collection overall.

I have missed out on plenty of 1/1's recently, so I can't wait until the days they are for sale again. I try not to count the days either.

what i do is i collect mostly autos, GU's, rc's of the players in my sig. i only collect base and inserts of corey maggette and paul pierce, but still get autos, GU's, rc's for them too.

as for non card related, probably only try and get their jerseys or signed basketballs.

Autos are my fave, but I also love RCs.

And of course when the two meet, I'm in for that.

I also love my Exquisites.

i collect everything of the guys i collect (+ rookie cards for my rookie collection)

Im happy to pick up anything from a base card to an exquisite of my players

gu/auto/patch are my favourite but i only collect jason richardson so i bid for any his cards

auto/gu/patch - there are way too many cards for me to collect anything of my guys.
The reason i collect so many guys is because it can get frustrating waiting for cards of my guys to turn up on the bay.

I also collect cards of xmen, soccer, nrl and cricket.

I grab what I need when I can, within reason.. As much as I love this hobby and my player collection, sometimes I have to control myself!

Mine changes, but it's mostly anything and everything.

I try not to go for all the new releases, simply for the fact that there's too much to keep up with, and it's just too costly.

I'm trying to work on filling in gaps from Harris' RC Year. So when I see stuff I need from that year, I make it a purpose to try to get it (if funds allow).

As a player collector, it would be the first one. A bit of everything.
I try to get my hands on as many jr cards as possible, from his Exquisite RC down to hiss topps total base rc card.
