that dude 'lebron james' is probably the biggest card dealer in Sth Korea, hes got a shitload of cash to play with.

man.. if i was an nba player i so would collect my own cards.... cos i would heaps of $$$ way more than most collectors... & then i would maybe give it away to ppl in my fan club or something... hehehe

wow!! unbelievable!! i remember seeing one on the beckett boards when someone asked "show us your best card" and one of the 3 popped up!! i was amazed then and even more so now!!

i would never have thought it would go for this much!!

and yeah...read the answer to the first question!! he is right...it would of just been "another rookie" when the set first came out and look at it now!!

and to the "do you think players collect their own cards" question - i saw something on austa once and they were asking players that exact question and most of them answered yes!!!

A: Yeah . . .the Exquiste just came in and I was on abusiness trip with my son . . . $500 for one pack and we were bitching about how we got nothing for our money . . . the dealer about had a heart attack . . . but back then Wade was just another rookie . . . we were mollified by the fact that we lived in Chicago and he was a Chicago boy who went to school in Milwaukee . . . the worst part about it is that #'s 1 & 2 sold within two weeks of when we pulled it and I didn't buy them . . . can you imagine what all three would be worth??? whooo!

$25,000US!!! :shock: WOW, i had forgotten about this auction, that has to be a record amount for a modern card sale, if i had that much cash i could buy every amare card i wanted and pretty much every old school card i wanted too, with enough cash left over to buy a few boxes of exquisite.

I saw that auction today, 25K absolutely insane. If I had kept my Wade ultimate signatures 2003-04 auto maybe I woulda got more for it. *sighs* No biggie though, it sold for a good $147 US or about that and I got it for $127 US, so I still made a profit..
