Jack this is just my personal gripe take it however you want, but it is generally considered a NO NO to do a background of tiled pictures in normal resolution on web pages as it is too busy and distracts from your main body text and is hard on the eyes. consider doing it in a different opacity similiar to the background of your body text (but with the same background picture you have now) you should be able to do it in photoshop or a similar program. other than that you have a winner mate. I would make the body text a slightly larger font because old farts like me don't have the best eyesight (or put in an option to enlarge the text as most web pages with a lot of text do now)
