Holy crap!! Jordan

Precious Metal Gem cards (aka PMG) are parallel cards of the Metal Universe / Metal Universe Championship sets (Fleer) from the 97/98 and 98/99 years. They are probably inserted at a rate of about 1/case. Very rare indeed.

Depending on which set, they are numbered out of 50 or 100. The Metal Universe Set of 97/98, the PMGs are numbered out of 100, but the first 10 are green and the next 90 are red, so the Greens are extremely rare.

The rare Jordan 90's inserts are becoming impossible to find. It will literally be years before some of them resurface on Ebay again.

I would guess there are at least 5-10 Jordan collectors trying to complete the entire run of 90's #ed inserts.

Just recently someone spent $10,000+ cleaning out RB21 of all it's #ed Jordans. An Embossed Gold Refractor sold for $2,000, a 98 Metal Gems like the one in the Ebay listing went for about $1700, and the 97 Rubies for $1700 and $1400 for the subset one.

Oh, and the precious metal gems green they had also sold. List price was $15,000+ and I can tell you that I offered $10,000 and got turned down.

Saying the stuff is smoking hot would be an understatement.

So each year Fleer releases these PMG sets? And not Skybox?

I am talking about the 90's sets.

Only in 97/98 and 98/99.

PMGs were not sets sold in that way. They are a parallel set of a set produced, inserted into the packs at very rare rates. Just like Rubies are parallels of the Skybox Premium product (produced by Skybox) and were inserted into those packs, Gold and Platinum were parallels of the Ultra Product (produced by Fleer), and Legacy were parallels of the Flair product (produced by Fleer).

I think there was a recent set produced by Upper Deck, called Skybox Metal which also did have PMGs in them, but these are a recent production and the PMGs do not have the same value as those 90's PMGs.

can you imagine what a #23 out of 50 or 100 of those jordans are worth.

most likely some punk kid in middle america has it and doesnt know what it's worth and the corners are all chipped.

i also wonder how many boxes or cases are left of those series and have they all been pulled?

I remember stories in a trade show, when a 10year old kid pulled a grant hill autographics blue ink, and thought the card was different from others so he just throw it away, poor kiddo.

rudygay...

is there any way you can email me or post a list of some of the jordan inserts that sold on the rb21 site recently?

Oh, I also found this Graded 9 Jordon Rookie sitting very cheap with a day to go. Send this GEM 9 over to Beckett and you can make instant profit by changing graders....This one is from hanizena who I have purchased off him before and with 1897 positive feedback at 100%, somehow I don't think it would be a fake...So grab your bargain Jordan Fleer 86/87 RC for only a smidgen of mainstream price!

MICHAEL JORDAN 1986 FLEER RC #57 GEM 9 MINT BEAUTIFUL@@ - eBay Rookies 1980-89, Basketball-NBA, Cards, Sports Mem, Cards Fan Shop. (end time 10-Jul-09 21:00:00 AEST)

That's two cheap Jordans RC's in a week! I hope some lucky bugger on here wins it.

Thats a terrible buy, sorry but GEM is a worthless grading co and there is no guarantee its even real. It would get knocked down several grades even if it was and its already up to the price of a decent psa graded version anyway. Then you add your grading fees and postage on top of that and you lose. Its not a bargain, its going to cost you more and much pain.

This part made me laugh the hardest. Giving Aussie collectors a bad name by spruiking such **** to collectors.

and since its has been graded by one of the better recognized grading companies you dont have to worry about whether its authentic and this makes the value of this card enormous and would make a great investment for the future

I think Nyte needs more time to learn regarding these MJ Rc's.
