HIGHEST PRICED CARD I'VE EVER SEEN SOLD ON EBAY !

This card is ONE of the lowest amounts released by select since they have started. Darren lockyer is very marketable and being No.1 I guess it would have to be the dearest. What would darren lockyer 09 or andrew johns 04 captains card No.1 be worth. I believe it sold for a fair price. Considering there will be only 2 or 3 people that can own a No.1 select card from the NRL select series of cards. It is a very very rare card to own and would be a privilege have.

Well if it is Steve why didn't they just invoice jhl or cardzone for the whole 5 cards in the first place then select could of saved on the ebay fee's
What is the point of it all if no collectors get any of them.
Or were they just trying to rub noses in it.

Generating hype, Otherwise they would sell out the regular numbers @ $499 then release these.

Surely someone who bid on it would have been able to check out the full winners id if they do a search for items they have bid on?

I guess we should have known it was not Select doing the right thing by collectors.

Thanks to Mr Lockyer's manager.

I do know who won them, It was not me and it was not wang, and yes it was somebody on ozcardtrader.
And I did get the numbers I wanted.

yeeah, I agree, if the others do not want to pay for cards that are only ever available once in a lifetime, thats up to them, but I would not consider them ultimate collectors.
And lets face it, if the No.1 was available all the time, then the 2 cards would not have reached such a high price.
In years to come the winning bidder has really increased his / her collection value tremendously more so than all ours because they had the gall to go that high.
