People definitely collect the old cards, old as in vintage (like 60's) and old as in 90's. There has been a resurgence in popularity in 90's inserts and particularly Jordan of late.
Panini is the NBA licence owner now, Fleer and Upper Deck can produce cards but are currently using college uniforms etc, they can't use NBA uniform/images etc.
I'd pick Upper Deck over Fleer, personal preference though!
Some will be kept that noh lord io forget its name,.. the cataklogue everyone used then back then in the 90s.. doubled the USD for CAT price UNC lol
tip of my tongue
i have heaops of cricket, aussie basketball (lol) nba fleer and upperdeck, league about 90s to when the gum stopped being put in it cos it was killing people or making them sick
anyway. Someone told me these boxes of fleers nba (just says 90, not like 89-90 n90-91 as year on the yellow box?) , theyre not shrink wrapped, but they were ready in a shop that sold out, to be opened.. ones opened.. but all still have 1500 cards in them waxed or whatever .. theyve been stored in a box with other collectables.. i dont see any damage... it seems alot of info online says 1990 is rare (5th anniversery edition) or it is 89-90 which i dont get.. does that mean an update. anyway appparently too, only by word, they must have their highest CAT cards, rookies ans signs or whatever they do in fleer.. i used upper deck as a kid mostly i think so anyway.. with the gold cards ... theyre in plastic creew things.. which i cant seem to find yet.
but yeah as i said condition counts with all collectables so unkept card even from this time that are tagged arent gonna be very popular out of a packet.
its just the time ive held onto them and not know what they are driving me crazy and i never opened one pack iof cards cos dad said it would appreciate and i could sell it in 20 yrs (now) like per pack, or do 5 pack discounts.... is this frounded upon and what is a decent price seeing as im this far away from opening them all lol
getting back into collectable habits... to keep nmyself sane hehe.. coins, looking for real unc pre-dec notes n coins, and then world money...
but back to basketball.. ts gained my interest in that school way of surprise. used to lopve going to the chocolate shop and buying a few packs.. it was like gambling for kids! lol
and i am a pounter who just lost money so what do you think personally.. hold onto them or what? i see ppl seell 5 packs from 2007 at a time for $5 on ebay! nif thats the case what would mine be worth.. to sell if i dont decide to find all that years specials, then give or sell away cheaply the duds and dud doubles.... cos obvioiuskly with 36 oacks x 15 cards,.. im not getting by luck the good ones but the gambkling instinct still tells me hahahah

go to beckett.com, you can look up basketball card lists but it won't show you prices unless you have a subscription which is about $6usd/month. well worth it IMO as that's unlimited looking up of cards etc.
