henkita217's Allen Iverson Finest Moments Autographs Project

Hey guys,

If you all don't mind, I will keep these arrivals within this thread only, to avoid many threads being opened. I will just keep updating this thread with a bump for each new arrivals.

I'm trying to get the whole set of these Finest Moments, which consists of 20 different achievements and memorable Moments of Allen Iverson, throughout his career. I know this will be quite a challenge but I'm up for it. Each card are encapsulated and serial'd out of #/3.

I'm also going to be very critical on the autographs for these Finest Moments set. Any very lazy looking one, it ain't going to be on my collection. So far, I've passed up on 2 of them because they look soooo bad. [-X

Wish me luck guys because I will need it. :p Please enjoy this set and the updates that's going to happen once I receive them in my hands.

My 1st Allen Iverson Finest Moments arrival:

06 Topps Finest - Finest Moments Gold #13 "A Triple Single" - Uncirculated Autograph #3/3

"A Triple Single" - Until Allen did it in '04-'05, no player in the history of the NBA had ever finished among the league's top five in points, assists and steals per game. Iverson won his fourth scoring crown at 30.7 PPG, and added averages of 7.9 [ fifth-ranked ] in assists and 2.4 [ second ] in steals.

My 2nd Allen Iverson Finest Moments arrival: - I bought this one blindly. The seller couldn't come up with a picture because his digital camera was with his wife and she was out of town. I couldn't judge his autograph but I did got a confirmation that the autograph featured on this card wasn't as bad as the one posted on page 2, so I went ahead and struck a deal with him.

06 Topps Finest - Finest Moments Gold #10 "Fifty-Fifty" - Uncirculated Autograph #3/3

"Fifty-Fifty" - On December 18 and 20, 2004 A.I. joined the exclusive fraternity of Rick Barry, Elgin Baylor, Wilt Chamberlain, Bernard King, Michael Jordan and Antawn Jamison as the only players to post back-to-back 50-point games. His 54 in the first of those vaulted him past the 15,000-point mark for his career.

My 3rd Allen Iverson Finest Moments arrival:

06 Topps Finest - Finest Moments Gold #1 "Finest of The Frosh" - Uncirculated Autograph #1/3

"Finest of The Frosh" - Nick van Exel got a look at Iverson and understated, "He'll be pretty good." A.I. was far more than that even as the '96-'97 NBA Rookie of The Year, as he scored 30 points in his first game, and went on to average 23.5 PPG. Oscar Robertson was the only other rookie ever to average 21 PPG, 7 RPG and 4 APG.

My 4th Allen Iverson Finest Moments arrival:

06 Topps Finest - Finest Moments Gold #7 "Better Than You" - Uncirculated Autograph #1/3

"Better Than You" - Iverson's first - and through '04-'05, only - NBA MVP Award came in '00-'01, when he powered the 76ers to the NBA Finals. The all-over-the-place guard - the shortest and lightest player ever to capture the honor - won the scoring title [ his second ] at 31.1 PPG and also led the league with 2.5 SPG.

My 5th Allen Iverson Finest Moments arrival:

06 Topps Finest - Finest Moments Gold #19 "Doing It All" - Uncirculated Autograph #3/3

"Doing It All" - Facing Ray Allen and a UConn powerhouse ranked third in the nation on 2/19/96, Iverson put on a clinic, leading Georgetown to a 77-65 upset in perhaps his best college game. He netted 26 PTS, made 8 STL, dished out 6 AST and coolly sliced up a Huskies press that had tied lesser foes in knots.

My 6th Allen Iverson Finest Moments arrival:

06 Topps Finest - Finest Moments Gold #9 "At The Buzzer.... Good!" - Uncirculated Autograph #2/3

"At The Buzzer.... Good!" - By some quirk of fate, Iverson had never hit a buzzer-beater until his ninth season. Then he did it twice in 15 days - and both in overtime! On November 12, 2004, he bucketed a 14-footer to topple Indiana, 106-103. And on the 26th, he stole a pass and streaked to a layup to break a tie with Washington.

My 7th Allen Iverson Finest Moments arrival:

06 Topps Finest - Finest Moments Gold #11 "Never More" - Uncirculated Autograph #1/3

"Never More" - In Iverson's long parade of scoring eruptions, he has never gone off more mightily than on February 12, 2005, when his 60 points powered Philadelphia to a win over Orlando. Allen nailed 17 of 36 FGs and 24 of 27 FTs, with quarterly totals of 17, 12, 11 and 20. He was the 19th player to score 60.

My 8th Allen Iverson Finest Moments arrival:

06 Topps Finest - Finest Moments Gold #18 "Spelling Defense With A.I." - Uncirculated Autograph #1/3

"Spelling Defense With A.I." - Iverson made an instant impact in the Georgetown scoring column, but it was his defense that set him apart. En route to his second straight Big East Defensive Player of the Year Award, the cat-quick guard shattered a school record for steals in a game with 10 in a Hoyas win against Miami (1/13/96).

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My 9th Allen Iverson Finest Moments arrival:

06 Topps Finest - Finest Moments Gold #4 "The Answer And The Stilt" - Uncirculated Autograph #2/3

"The Answer And The Stilt" - Allen's first NBA scoring title was significant and dramatic. He went into the last game of the '98-'99 season 0.14 PPG ahead of Shaquille O'Neal, then scored 33 to wrap up the crown at 26.8. He was the shortest player ever to win it, and the first 76er to do so since Wilt Chamberlain [ '65-'66 ].

brilliant card hen, good luck on the completion of the set. its gonna be tough but thats half the fun hey? :D

Man, thats awesome. And it's 3/3. A 1/1 :D hehe

Good luck with your quest Hendra. It's gonna look excellent. Hopefully I'll have some mojo in my Finest boxes and I'll be able to help you out.

I hope you get all 20, but remember if you want to get them all, I think you should try and get what you can while you can. If you wait for that nicer looking signature you may not have another chance as there is only 3 of each. And as you would know Iverson is a very popular player.

Fark dude!!!! That's gonna be one hell of a feat to own, good luck man!

You got potentially the hardest one out the way, and it's a frickin beauty!!!!

Well done mate, look forward to seeing the other 2 mutha's!!!

that will be pretty impressive if you can get one of each...
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
good luck

Thanks guys for the best wishes, I really appreciate it. I will do my best to get the whole set. ;)

bibinc - You've got a great point man but I just really can't see myself adding the card below to my collection, simply because of the horrible autograph. Unfortunately, my niece or little cousin can probably do something like that.

Nevertheless, it is a nice card but it is true that it will bring my task just that bit harder.

378 Dude, are you going to have a go yourself or maybe try to pick up a few for your PC? It'll be awesome if you can/will.

Cheers~

$300 a pop? Whew. Wanna buy me a plasma TV first?

I'm thinking of selling all my Kidd's so I can buy one.

Anyways... all the best mate. At least you know you can make profit once you decide to sell all your AI's. That's a sure investment.

awesome card hendra, you have quite a challenge on ya hands. I see what you mean by not wanting a sloppy auto, the above auto is just crap.

Hi,
When you look at the pictured auto, that is not that nice one, and you are right that a kid could sign better. Makes me happy that I like the auto I got. Anyway good luck and I hope you complete your task to get all 20 with nice auto's on them.
