Help?! Re: eBay sale/Aus post

Hi all. I've had a buyer from eBay launch a case against a card set I sold on eBay recently and was wondering if anyone had any info regarding Aus posts current delivery times. I recall recently they announced changes were going to be made and that they would lead to longer delivery times than usual. Item was sent from Narre South in Vic to Logan Central in QLD. It's been eight business days since I sent the item off. I have a receipt for payment of postage, but as registered postage was not selected by the buyer at checkout I have no tracking. Also would like to know if anyone has any idea of a potential outcome of said case. Cheers in advance.

Mail times are fairly slack in qld of late and really inconsistant. I would imagine it would be there within 2 weeks of u sending it though.

As for your case, if sent regular post and the buyer says they didnt receive it it will be refunded. Only things that will save u is if the buyer says they received it ( but they might have already anyway)

I thought that might have been the case. But after going over the buyers feedback record, it's impeccable. As is mine. It's got to be either still in transit, or lost.

Do you think that the fact I had registered as an option but wasn't selected by the buyer works in my favour? I had standard, registered and international postage as options in my listing. The buyer chose standard. Surely this must mean they have to take some responsibility?

U cant leave negative feedback for a buyer from memory and u can report it and get it removed if the seller tries to leave positive but the feedback (words) isnt positive.

Nope all on you with paypal.

I think it was hairy on here who sold something internationally which showed how much of a shambles it all is and the torture he went through with them.

I am in Brisbane and i have been buying items from people in VIC, and the delivery time has been 2 weeks on average, only a couple have been earlier.

Cheers for that. Based on that, it may hopefully arrive sometime next week.

AP delivery times have been terrible in QLD last month or two for some reason - at least two weeks when items used to take 2-3 days.....

AP were talking about changing delivery times to save costs - I think that must have started.

After more back and forth messaging, we came to an agreement to let it ride out another week. That time has now expired. Naturally, the buyer was straight on to it, pushing for some form of resolution. I've been in contact with eBay and as mentioned above, lack of registered post mean win for buyer should it go down that path. This is despite the fact I had it as an option, but was not selected by the buyer. So as it currently stands, I'm arguing my case with eBay and have to get back to the buyer about what we do now. I'm really unsure how to approach this. As an eBay member and ozcard member, I've never had anything go missing from memory. Now I know there's a first time for everything, but something just feels a little fishy to me. Lol. I don't know. Very unimpressed and disenchanted to say the least!!

That sucks mate. Unfortunately u will get absolutely nowhere trying to argue the point that the buyer didnt select registered so its their fault.

Best to take it on the chin and move on which we all know is stuffed.

Funny how ebay has seller protection or something similar but it only works if tracking is available

I live in Alice Springs and something's are taking up to 4 weeks to get to the East Coast at the moment.

But opening a case after 8 days is a bit impatient.

Ive also bought something lately and its taken almost 2 weeks from vic to syd.
And it hasnt arrived yet.

I've removed the option for regular mail for eBay sales now. It's just too risky knowing hearing about crappy buyers like this.

Registered Post isn't much better with the 180 day period of buyer protection now. Sold a bunch of collectibles for $700 last month, and since the buyer hasn't left feedback I'm still worried that a case could pop up at any time.
