I have bit of a problem with a user who purchased DBZ cards from me last month. I need some advice on how to deal with this as it's been going back and forth for over a month now.
In simple terms so I dont bore you all,
The buyer purchased (by auction) some DBZ trading cards from me.
They asked for my bank details, so I sent them via email.
They marked it as payment sent (via bank deposit) on the 6th of May.
I state in my auctions to pay within 9 days (this gives a bit of time over the weekend in case). They marked payment sent on the 8th day.
I waited a while to see if payment would come through into my bank account.
Which it didn't.
So I sent the following on May 11th:
"Hey there,
Payment still has not been recieved into my account.
I had sent you my bank details on the 5th of May (6 days ago).
My bank details are also available in the View Payment Details section of the item.
Please let me know what is going on.
Amanda"
Not a single email until last week. I sent numerous.
18th May, email arrives:
"Amanda. sorry had 7 diffrent things to pay for on the same day. i payed them all including yours for 3.25.. the only answer i can come up with is that i have sent your pay to the wrong account as i had 3 diffrent card lots for my son to pay for. Please send me your adress and i will post it first thing friday morning from blackwater. sorry for thr delay and inconvenience once again. sharni."
If the money was sent to the wrong account, it would of gone back to her by now.
I sent the following in return (18th May):
"If it went to the wrong account it should of come back to you by now, but
here are all of the details for either banking or money order etc: <my details>"
Reply (22nd May):
"THANKS AMANDA IN THE POST AS A MONEY ORDER. SHOULD TAKE NO MORE THAN 2 DAYS.
THANKS AGAIN FOR BEING PATIENT/ "
Today is friday and still no money order.
I sent them an email saying that it does not take any longer than 5 days (mon to friday) for mail to get from qld to vic when its not the busy season.
I have given them until Friday next week to pay (my 2nd ultimatum!!) otherwise im filling a non-payment report.
I have also asked for the money order number so i can see if it is real or not.
I'm yet to recieve feedback of course from this person, so I'm a bit aware of giving them negative feedback.
Am I going about this the right way? And is this user just making me run around for something thats not going to come?
I badly need opinions on this :S This is the 2nd buyer to give me trouble this month. I finally got feedback from a first time buyer after heaps of emails, and even a letter in the post reminding them they need to give feedback, only to have them spell buyer as "byer" :S
You Just Need To Make Sure That You File Your No Paying Bidder Claim Within 45 Days, otherwise You Will Get None Of Your Fees Back.
I Have Lost All Patience With Buyers,my Add's Clearly State Payment Within 7 Days,if They Do Not Pay Within 10 Days(give A Little Bit Of A Chance To Pay) I File A Non Paying Bidder Claim Which Most Buyers Respond To Straight Away Then If They Don't Pay They Get A Strike, loose The Item And You Get Your Money Back

I Have Given 1 Buyer A Neg Before And I Copped A Retaliation Neg.
So I Don't Send Neg Feedback Anymore Unless I Inform Ebay That Is What I Am Doing As They Changed There Rules For Retaliation Neg Feedbacks At The Start Of This Year.
Usually A Strike Is Enough For Most Users To Loose There Ebay Rights, particularly If They Don't Have The Feedback To Back It Up.
I Always Ask Sellers And Buyers, for A $$$$ Figure For There Stuff Up If It Is A Big Stuff Up, E.g Sending Cards In An Envelope And Me Paying $7.00 Global Priority, Which Is A Recent Situation I Had And Got Refunded $5.00
Argh so the saga goes on for me... read the following two emails from the buyer:
26th May:
at work at the moment do you have an account with anz or nab bank. if so i
can put it in now AGAIN or i can check on the number tomorrow for you or
even put the 3.25 in an envelope and post again. really sorry for all the
hassel thanks for being so patient. hear from you soon . can ring me if you
want <mobile number>. sharni.
two hours later:
obviously you did not read my message i sent you today.i do not work for the
posta service and neither do you so i can assume neither of us knows what is
going on with the mail. i do not lie. i have asked you how best for you it
would be for me to fix this mess and obviously you cant work with me. this
is unfortunate as i have never had any complaints before. mix ups and
payments can some times be late. sorry you feel i am mucking you around. do
what you have to do. i dont mind loosing 3.25 or the cards. sorry i am only
human. i told you i was at work and could not check the receipt till i get
home at 7.30 pm . do whatever you have to as i cant do any more. sharni
I replied today (28th May) (I dont read my bigpond email account too often, but thanks to them not msging me through ebay, i have to):
And obviously I don't sit in front of the computer all the time, hence why I didn't
read the email until today.
It is probably the biggest pain in the butt on both ends with what goes on in the
middle of it all. I have been over and over my bank account numerous times looking for
your deposit and it hasn't turned up at all, so it will have to have gone back into
your bank account at some stage. I have done this myself with a payment, and had it
return as it was not going to the right account.
How do you know that I don't work for Australia Post? I very well could for all you
know. I don't need assumptions like that. I know how long though it takes from any
state to my actual home as I have recieved hundreds of items interstate, so that should
give me a fair idea of how long things take. All I asked for was the money order number
asap, not immediately. I also do not ring people, I don't find it fair to ring people
about items in case something gets said (either end I might add) that is not needed.
Discussions can get heated (I have seen this between other sellers & buyers and I don't
think we need to or want to resort to that).
The only other option I can come up with (should the money order not arrive), is to
send via COD (Cash On Delivery). It's not my favourite method of sending out items but
it is a last resort of tryin to fix this all up.
At the end of the day, I can at least say that I have the item here and ready for you
when the money arrives. The postpak is even sealed with the cards inside, stamped and
ready to be sent.
I have issued a non-payment form with ebay, but this is so you can see the other
options available with this matter. Ebay doesnt give very clear options upon purchase
in case things like this do happen.
We can agree to not complete the transaction, and not give each other feedback, this
way, I get my sellers fees back.
When you get the chance, I'd like the money order number please.
I can't believe this has been so awkward for us both.
I hope we can come to an arrangement this week and finalise the transaction.
Amanda.
Forgot to reply about the account details, which ive told em 2 or 3 times. *replies*
This is totally pissing me off. I feel like giving them a negative, but I also feel like sending all msgs to ebay for them to read themselves in case I get a retaliation negative.
It makes me feel like not selling anything anymore.
That seems a lot of hassle over 3 bucks!! Can understand yr frustration though.
I once had a buyer in the US who sent payment without enough stamp payment for a money order they were sending so it went back to them! There was so much stuffing around they ended up paying via a friend of theirs paypal account - it took about a month. It was all very well mannered though and I didn't care as long as they kept communicating and updating me. In the end they got the card - I got great feedback for being so patient and I learned a lesson and only accept paypal payments from now on.
My advice is to ban them from bidding on your items again, file the NPB alert, get your fees back and leave feedback if you want to......that is WAY too much of a hassle to continue with it. Let it go or it will just get you more & more annoyed.
I am stressin over $3 because I am currently waiting (and have been for 2 months!!) for workcover & my employer to pay me for my injury >:| so any money I can get, I'll take atm
