2. you need to find out the culprit. my last one was omiga or something like that. then go into regedit, find all the files associated with that name and delete it from there.

one program won't remove them all. Malware Bytes is one i also use.
Of the top of my head I also use
SpyBot Search and Destroy
Hijackthis - this gives you a list of things installed in your register and protected system volumes that you can deleted. Note need to know what you are doing or can delete legit programs.

I also disable system recovery as most the latest viruses and spyware hide in there and recover themselves when deleted.
