Hi to fellow Kiwi traders

Just a heads up about some changes to NZ Post that are being enforced at my local, and they say are going to be strictly enforced at other Post Shops in the immediate future.

Trading cards are classed as collectibles and are prohibited items. My Post Shop has refused to send some that I have tried to post. You can send them internationally, but have to get them insured - minimum cost for that is $42. I was given the advice to lie about what is in packages and to state that they are playing cards in future. They also refused to process a piece of artwork I sold on Trade Me.

They say that the reason for these changes is to do with liability for lost items.

The exact wording of the new regulations for domestic post are as follows:

'Any collectible (other than coins) or antique or any painting, sculpture or other work of art valued under NZ$2,000 item is a prohibited item either via standard post or courier'

I'm sure your post office will be nicer, but they did say that this will become more strict nationwide. Unfortunately for me, my local is the only one within 60km.
