Mal from dandenong market and caribbean market?

He's generally good with single cards and boxes.
But don't buy single packs from him. I used to until I got 12 packs of infinity, got home and started opening em. After about pack 2 or 3 I was thinking ' gees these are easy to open' then I looked at the other packs and they bottom had been open a 1/4 to see if there we're any inserts. I went in the next week and looked at the rest of the box and thy are all like that so I said ' I'm betting there are no inserts in this box' and he asked why I thought that and I said ' you've opened all the packs at the bottom' to which he said it was a packing error for that box only. I gave him the benefit of the doubt til I looked at older series and saw that they had had the treatment except opened a little more and sort of 'fanned' out so see all the cards inside. This was last year and since then I haven't been back so I'm not sure if he's stopped doing it or not but you dont bite the hand that feeds and and best of that I've taken my business elsewhere

Also went to card zone for the first time after talking to Steve for a few months. He didn't know it was me as feed me lies. Which he has done to many people on this board. So that attitude and the price mark ups and his rudeness has steered me away from him too


They are me two bad run ins I've had for years so I just wanted to let you how about Mal and not to buy single packs from him. Boxes are fine case they are sealed

But yeah just giving you guys the heads up

I have dealt with Mal on many occasions, never ever had a problem! First time I have ever heard anyone mention anything about packs being 1/4 open and inserts not being there. Could it be that another customer could have opened these packs 1/4 of the way too see which packs had the inserts? And Mal's fallen victim to it.

I do understand where you are coming from and it doesn't feel nice when packs are tampered with. However I know Mal would never do this.

Steve is Steve, I think what many people forget is that he is not a collector, he is in it for the money. Last time I popped in, it looked like his business was doing well. We all have the option not to buy from him (and I don't).

mal is good, with boxes and single cards and trying to(and normally does) get the cards you are after. but every single packet was open just enough to see the back card(which is where the inserts for infinity were).
not saying he took the inserts out, just saying that if that pack had an insert... then he opened it and took it and replaced it with a pack with no insert. i would of never thought he would of done that but i guess its also his business and if its better putting food on his table or selling a judd or swan redemption for $5 in a pack he woudl take the redemption.

as i said boxes and single cards and if your chasing, hes your man, but i just feel ripped off cause i(and everyone) buys packs in hopes of that great hit and the packs i got had 0 chance of having anything in em

Not directed at the person in question but in general, That's a pretty terrible thing to do.
But Of course there are shady people in this hobby (business in general).... Being up front and honest does not seem to get you anywhere these days Brett.
Shannon (bogutjordan) still associates with people in this hobby who are fully aware of his recent indiscretion. This really confuses me

PS, I believe in giving everyone a second chance but if someone cant accept responsibility or even apologize for doing the wrong thing then I am quite happy to give them the wide berth.

i know for sure he doesnt mess with packs, i pulled a durant auto from his hoops box he had on display so i truly doubt it.

I'm fairly sure that at the markets his main profit would come from afl cards. Especially when he opened the packs a few days after the release (when people were paying $500 for redemptions)

He's been in business for close to 25 years, I seriously doubt he would want to open packs for redemption cards so he can 'put food on his table', if this was the case he would have been out of business by now. I understand you're upset, but at the same time this is your side of the story, there's always two sides. I still stand by Mal as he would never do such a thing.

He actually sells more NBA, AFL cards are more seasonal (with buyers flooding in to buy latest release), where NBA is all year round.

each is entitled to their opinions, this actually happened to me so i saw it first hand, i saw the ripped open bottoms of all the packs and its a well known fact that the bottom card was where the redemtions and such where placed in infinity

ive said before for boxes and if your chashing that illusive card, he will 99% get it for you, hes awesome in those respect, just i myself personally will not buy single packs from him again cause i now have a bad taste in my mouth, you can disagree if you want me everyone has an opinion, mine isnt right or wrong and neither is yours, im just stating mine from first hand experience
