Well, some awesome cards to share today, marred only slightly by a certain damaged 1/1 plate thats kinda ruined my day

First up, big thanks to AJ for her generosity in trading this card to me! you rock Ive got 3 of these set now (Cousy, Hondo, and oscar robertson),thinking of trying to complete the set maybe...

04/05 Finest Blue X-fractor John 'Hondo' Havlicek Uncirculated #15/25

Next, a very cool 'error' card i guess you could call it, similar to Graham's awesome Hill logo patch from the same set (not as nice as that beauty but),

Isiah Thomas Legendary Jerseys 3 clr patch!

Another legendary women's auto for the PC, Hall of Famer Carol Blazejowski! Never heard of her? well she's second on the all time NCAA scoring behind a little known guy called Pistol Pete Maravich, as a 5'10 guard, she averaged over 30 ppg and 10rb over 4 college seasons! basically she's the greatest women's offensive player of all time!

I love the design of these autos, almost surrealist, very avant garde design.

05/06 Topps First Row Signature Swish Rick Barry Auto #83/83

Next, a huge pickup for the legends PC! The greatest player of the first half of the 20th Century...

96/97 Toops Stars Reprints Rookie autos GEORGE MIKAN!!!

And finally, kind of a bummer cos of the awful condition, but still pretty happy with this: my first Amare 1/1 and my first 1/1 period!!!

The error is cos its supposed to a plain jersey but its a patch, which has happened on a few of this set.

nice additions to the collection, very sweet Mikan card, the Zeke plastic jersey card is awesome (dont know what the error is?) while good ole' Rick Barry gets some love, and some very interesting auto card love at that. All round, awesome effort!

Any one of the five Mikan autos is a great pickup but that ones my fav JZA. Great addition. Good to see some Hondo love here too, all those Pippen fans could learn a few things or two about him so that Pippen goes down the list of all time greats :-P

That pic on the Barry is classic and the perfect pose for anyone wanting that one great Barry card.

Great mailday. Bummer about the press plate as all mine are perfect and I've seen some grade 9.5 before as well.

Excellent mail. I love the pic on the Barry card, it's hard to believe he shot free throws so accurately like that.
Of course, the Mikan also rocks.

Thats not a patch its jersey with Plastasol.(tshirt INK)
Very strange? I thought the NBA always had sewn on patches and didn't screen print? Anyone shed more light on this????

There's a lot to like about your maildays. Havlicek looks cool as does Zeke's gu. I love those old Warrior's jerseys Rick Barry has on and 'The Blaze' auto is something new. The Mikan looks great, thats a really cool card.

The old pistons unis were not sewn, they only had that plastasol stuff, even zeke's exquisite and ultimate patches are like that.

Damn that Barry card is hot man! I thought the Mikan was pretty sweet, but like the Barry better.

What's the go with the numbering on it, does 83 have any significance?

Now that plate... It's not THAT harsh man, it doesnt look that bad at all.
I don't wanna hijack your thread, so any comments on this scan, don't move off-topic to Jizz' mailday.
But check out the condition of this one mate:

It's a Megenta plate, but why the blue smudges? Corners are dinged, and the top has smudges all over it.

I've seen some of Jordan's from this year's Exquisite with the same stuff on it instead of a sewn patch.

Good question scotty, i was wondering myself what the significance of #83 was, whether its deliberate or not, as all the autos in those first row sets have kooky numbering. the plate is actually worse in hand than the scan shows, im not fussed though anymore, as everyone says, some plates are pristine, some are beaten up, and as i mentioned earlier i got a bargain price too.
