Has anybody else seen parts of this? It's a double feature directed by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez. It's got a cool cast and a super silly hardcore horror theme that only these guys could pull off.
Here's a couple of links: Official Site and Yahoo Movie Site Check out the trailer.. If you're old enough :D

Just clicked on the link, thought I'd add that just those two names make it work seeing!

Kurt Russell's in it??

mmmm, Rose McGowan

mmmm, Stacey (FERGIE) Ferguson

+ Tarantino & Freddy Rodreguez

They look awesome!!!! Can't wait!!!

QT and RR together again...it cant fail! should be a great schlocky gory slasher done with absolute coolness.

Totally! I can't wait. And how cool are the old school actors Tarantino brings back for his films. Not long to go now..

I finally managed to get a non-dodgy copy (after 3 dodgy copies) of Grindhouse over the weekend and it's so good!! The Planet Terror feature is my favourite because it's so over the top and full of crazy, funny, gory stuff. I can't wait to see the missing reels.
I liked Death Proof as well, mostly for Rosario, but it's totally different and Tarantino really captured the whole style of the era.
Another great part about the whole Grindhouse thing is the cool trailers that were also made especially to be seen during the features, especially the one by Robert Rodriguez for a movie called Machete and Eli Roth's Thanksgiving.

I read in Empire mag that it won't be shown like it was in the US as one full feature but both movies will be released here seperately later this year.

And that is the biggest load of horsesh*t that the cinema operators/distributors have ever served up to the Australian public.
The movies were intended to be shown back to back....if their worried about losing money by having to sell a $13 ticket (or whatever they cost nowadays!!) and have people sit in their cinemas for 4 hours....then charge $20....I know I'd pay $20 to see them both together.

They may be trying to re-coup some of the losses this film made in the US because apparently it tanked at the Box office there.

exactly whats happening. it tanked in the US so theyre trying a different strategy for its worldwide release, in order to try and recoup some of the cash they invested. theres too small a market for such a niche genre as grindhouse horror to be really popular with the mainstream, and the execs were stupid for thinking it would be. they thought just cos it had rodriguez and tarantino's names attached to it it would automatically be another sin city...shows how in touch with the people these movie execs are.

personally i cant wait for the fully loaded dvd edition to come out...if its anything like sin citys its gonna be absolutely amazing.

btw, T i dont think the missing reels are ever meant to be shown...its just an attempt to replicate the missing reels often lost in the grindhouse pics that rob and quentin saw as they grew up, due to the shoddiness of the prints (remember these were really cheap horror movies, ususally done by amateurs...we're talking $10,000 budgets here). i could be totally wrong, and quentin/rob will probably include them on the dvd editions though (heres hoping :D )

Exactly. In regards to the missing reels, you're spot on J, QT said they included them for that exact reason, to reproduce the atmosphere of those old school double features. But he also goes onto say that the missing reels from both his and RR's movies were shot and will be included in most probably the dvd release! BTW, I'm quoting from the latest issue of Empire magazine so check it out for more
