So, I made the decision a few months ago to sell off a vast majority of my G Hill collection. I'm keeping my rookie year set as well as any college cards, but that may change into the future.

A few months ago I shipped a 20kg box off to Goldin Auctions which included 400+ graded cards to be auctioned off over the coming months. I'll use this thread to post up links to the auctions as they are listed by Goldin.

This thread pretty much sums up how I feel https://www.ozcardtrader.com.au/threads/where-to-from-here.212668/ - it's not really a hobby any more as an investment. Good for you if that's what floats your boat, but I'm not in it for that.

I never had the foresight or the money to get some of my Grant Hill cards graded. Now going through them over the last month or so,which there is over 500,what a lot of money I have wasted.I sold a small lot last week with the buyer having to pay more in postage than the cards were worth.Anyway good luck with your sales. And,you never know if you do make a killing with your sales,Matt might let you in on his secret how to find those rare $20.00 Michael Jordan cards he is stockpiling. 😉

I just look back and how I never spent more than $200 on a card and all of the cards I ever got graded were done on the PSA $5 specials - yes $5 per card!!!! I just can't believe how much they are charging now - costs more to grade a card than I was willing to spend on a card.

I'll leave that there for a second.

I saw them post these posted on their Instagram a few days ago, never expected it to be a poster on here!

Good luck with the auctions, though I won’t lie, it’s a bit sad to see an admin on here getting out because they are disillusioned with the hobby.

1/1 is off to a nice start 🙂

Not meaning to sound like an old man, but it's not like the old days any more. I can't even comprehend the money being spent on prospects. Hell I spent a few hundred on Luol Deng back in the day, hoping he would be the next thing. An eBay fire sale a few years later and i'm lucky to get $20 a card. That's life. But I don't comprehend the amounts being dropped on Lamelo rookies - I wouldn't be married anymore if I dropped that sort of coin!!!!! It's getting crazy.

I have PLENTY of cards left - I don't really consider it getting out, more of a refocus. I may be able to finish off my G Hill rookie set I started many years ago.
I hear you. It’s easy for me to say because I don’t have anything of significant value, but if I was sitting on those Hill’s (as much as I love them) the rational part of my brain would be doing the same thing you are doing in the current market.

Oh and I sent some raw cards to Goldin as well and decided after they arrived to get them graded ........ 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Sorry to bump an old thread - but was just curious as to how it all ended up. Loks liek the prices were a great success but how were they to deal with? Got your money back quick smart? What sort of cut did they take? Would you do anythign differently in hindsight? Recommend it for others? I'm er, asking for a, um.....friend. :-P
