I have been looking up the BGS population report....
Can someone please give me a rough BV estimation for the following cards...
93'94 Stadium Club
#183 Dennis Rodman first day issue
Grade - 9
97'98 Ultra ultrabilities all star
Allen Iverson
Grade - 8.5
97'98 Ultra big shots
Michael Jordan
Grade - 8.5
97'98 Ultrabilities starter
Michael Jordan
Grade - 8.5
Just wondering as a mate has those cards graded but we agree that my cards are pretty much in the same conditions as his.
The Dennis Rodman first day issue is my grading estimation just based on condition comparison of the ultra cards.
Just trying to figure out whether it is worth spending a few bobs on getting them graded.
Thanks guys
Hey Steve - we should get together and compare out T-Mac gold
Depends. Some like my vintage go or trade for more as the other end is more than likely to want to get it graded. Hence if they can pick it up already graded at the same value they save the grading fees and shipping themselves for getting it graded.
For other cards it all depends on the grade. I'd rate a BGS 8.5 the same as a raw for modern cards regardless and some BGS 9's depending on the set and how condition sensitive they are in general.
Two reasons people grade cards. One, for their own PC where they want the card slabbed and confirmed in condition and to hopefully establish its pecking order in that cards place in the hobby.
Two, to get a great grade and flip it.
The first scenario means you care little about the grading fee and shipping as really once a card is forever in your PC the value doesn't matter at all. It might as well be worthless.
The second you have to factor in grading fees and two lots of shipping on top of the final cost you paid to get it raw. Then add eBay fees and paypal fees and decide if its worth your while to get it graded and sell. A low grade could mean a loss.
My tip. Grade cards you want to keep then you could care less. For other cards you care less about only send the best you think actual have a chance at a gold label.
