'Glory Road' - DVD!!

has anyone seen this??

i hadn't heard of it until i saw it at the local video shop and thought that it looked alright....

it is based on the true story of the Texas Western Oilers' 1966 season??

quite a good movie that i really enjoyed and would recommend to any basketball loving fan on these boards!!

to cut a long story short, a new coach recruits 7 'negros' to his team to the disgrace of many people around the Basketball community at the time and literally changes the way the game is played forever!!

i wont go into it too much further, but you will enjoy!! i guarantee it!!

I usually don't like these kind of 'based on a true story' movies because you either know whats going to happen or they are equally predictable, but this was cool.

Even better is the movie "Metro ball"

A movie based on a real life story about a short lived experiment of 8 guys in a local Tasmanian comp that wax their backs, shoulders, chests and eybrows. Shave off their beards. Chop off their mullets and cut off their extra heads. They also got rid of their flannel warmups and Bonds jerseys. They seriously turned the Tasmanian basketball community around and caused so much ruckus they moved to the mainland where no one believed they actually came from Tassie.

A truly inspirational story that anyone that clears trees for a living and also shoots hoops should watch.
