hi all i know a few of u guys get cards sign at the games i want to go to one of the games this weekend just wonderin how do u hold the cards..do u hold all at once nd go threw them when u c the player or u got them on something
there must be another exit at the SFS, Dragons players never came out the front, 1st game i try to get anything signed this year, and they sneak out, lol.
Personally I have all of my players sorted out and individually kept in 7.5cm x 10cm zip lock bags. Instead of trying to fumble through 70-100 cards I quickly flick through around 15 zip lock bags to find the player I need. No rubber bands.
When ever i get the chance to go to a game i have an Art book, the covers are hard and the pages are thick, i have 3 photo corners for each card stuck onto the pages with about 11 cards per page, the cards are easily put in and removed but dont fall out, it also allows the player to see the cards and often leads to conversation because they can see their cards and develops a good rap-our with the players.
i have been doing it that way for years with out 1 problem.....
i have seen this one guy (no idea who he is) with plastic ultra pro? containers with compartments full and he grabs handfulls of each player and expects them to sign them all.....like i said i dont know who he is but he is a grub and the players dont like the fact that you hand them 10 -20 of the same card,
thats why i have the book set up, they can see the different cards and they always ask about this card or that card and you can develop a good re pour with them and you will find that they will be more than happy to see you next time.
this is just my experience when i had more time to get sigs
cheers guys nd dave thats wat i was thinkin put them in a book with the corners cut so they stay in but i wasnt sure if they stay in there the i thought about puttin bluetak on the back nd put them in the book but they will fall out but since u said they stay in the book im going do that...i went to west nd parra game nd saw some guy going throw a green shoppin bag nd just gettin about 10to20 cards out nd just handin them over im thinkin i got 2 or 3 diff nd thats a bit to much nd hes got that much give other ppl a turn to get some done
Getting Cards Signed ? , I don't know what it is about signed cards, is it because it raises the price of a card or knowing that a player has some sort of connection with that card or is it just an other way to collect cards,
I see it as damage to a perfect card, can some one give me their view on this.

I think its more of a case of meeting the player and having something to remember it by. I only ever get base cards signed so its not like they are valuable or i dont have others. Some its a case of completing sets/team sets or just getting a card signed by your favourite player.
As a rule, I don't get inserts or rare cards hand signed. I think it devalues the insert value. Getting comon cards signed that are about 20c each can only increase the value of the card. Lets face it there is no shortage of common cards in any set released.
eg. A common set unsigned on Ebay is probably $15 tops. A signed set of commons at worst is probably worth $2 per card making the set worth around $400. Common Dynasty cards are selling on Ebay for $5+, this would make a common set worth $1000 at the very least at the moment.
i got some inserts sign im trying to get the 07 gem cards sign for me its the privileged to meet them nd get them to sign them in person i dont care about the value of the card if it goes up or down
I have been getting cards doen for years. I see it as i met the player and have something better then a piece of paper with the players auto on it. Also future value of the card might be worth something down the track. It's great fun to have a set nearly signed. Also cards are easy to store and cheaper to buy rather then get a ball, hat or jersey signed each game.

I agree.. Having cards that are so easily stored is awesome!! I have signed jerseys.... And I LOVE them.. But they're not easy to find places for.....
Here's my dilemma..... I'd like my bar room to have signed framed jersey's..... BUT... Which jersey's do I pick to be framed.... In an ideal world with a massive bar room I would have one rare (maybe different to normal design) for each team.. One for each origin team.. One australian team (19 jersey's later!!)... Or do you pick a year and run for jersey's just from that year? Or do I
Pick just cowboys because they are my team?? And put the rest into a cupboard ??
I'm glad this is my biggest dilemma at the moment..
After thinking for years about this..... I'm glad I can collect cards and be done with the jerseys I can't stop collecting...
If I were you Mirren, First I would Pick the Cowboys because it's the team you go for, and second I would try and get a man cave to put all your stuff in, I got my stuff on walls and garage walls, I don't care if they get dirty because you can clean frames or replace them, don't hide stuff you love.
