Went to the Eastern Michigan University Convocation Center back on Saturday for the EMU Men's basketball game vs. St. Bonaventure. Since the school I go to down here is on holiday break and I did not have to be home to Traverse City until Sunday, I decided to go to this game since it was expected that George Gervin would appear at halftime since EMU declared this day to be all George Gervin's.
Well I was able to head out to this game early back on Saturday since the EMU Convocation Center is 5 minutes from where I live on campus at school there. When it was all said done after walking around the building for over an hour, a couple other graphers and I located George Gervin in his suite. When we finally found out where he was at, it turns out that he was busy talking to some old friends. Then a person (I would later account for was the school president) walked out and saw that we were waiting for Gervin. Without hesistation, the school president went to tell Gervin he has people waiting outside for autographs. About 2-3 minutes later, Gervin came out and came right over to sign for us. Here is how I did with George Gervin on George Gervin Day!!!:
George Gervin Day 12/20/08
George Gervin 5/5 cards, 3/6 cards, 2/2 8x10 photos, 1 Slam-Ups Poster, 1 Basketball (With HOF Inscription on it), and a pic with the Iceman himself!!!
That is all I have to share here result wise on George Gervin day!!!
Well after this experience I had with a Basketball HOF player, it made me completely forget of how I missed out on the Utah Jazz back on Friday night because of the blizzard the entire state of Michigan recently had. After having an experience like this with a HOF Basketball player, I have no complaints at all as Gervin was signing a ton at this event.
Well that is all for now as I am in Traverse City for most of my holiday break. As long as weather permits, I will try to go back down to do the Orlando Magic hopefully at the hotel next week, and also at the game.
As always, I welcome all comments if anyone has any. I would like to wish everybody on here that reads this, Happy Holidays!!! Thanks alot for viewing this thread today...
