Hi everyone, newbie from Port Lincoln South Australia.
Been collecting sporadically for a few years now (purchases always dependant on finances).
Collect AFL and NBA cards (mainly Port Adelaide cards in AFL, and no real current PC with NBA as yet, just building up before deciding who to concentrate on).
Have picked up quite a collection of NBA cards from garage sales, auctions, etc (not many peeps over here really know the value of some of the stuff they've let go cheap).
Also an avid collector of horse racing memorabilia (got about 25 Black Caviar LE prints to get framed and hang on the walls (pending wife's permission of course, but don't think she'd complain too much considering she has purchased at least 8 of them for me).
Will be looking at off-loading some of my better NBA cards eventually once I decide on where my PC focus will be.
Also will be looking to offload non Port AFL cards.
Have also built up stock of LE horse racing memorabilia that I will be selling eventually on ebay, etc.

Anyway, it's great to find what appears to be a fantastic community here.

Welcome to the forums. Nice place Port Lincoln, lived there for a few years many many moons ago
Quite likely you wouldn't recognize the place now, has grown a bit with a fair bit of new development although the silos still dominate the view as you drive south towards town along Boston Bay!!!

Welcome mate, look forward to seeing what you have to offload
Probably be several weeks before I can contemplate getting anything posted, am in the process of sorting through exactly what I have here as well as getting some of my racing prints ready to be framed prior to selling. Also heading to Melbourne end of the month for a few days with the missus, so that will hold me up a bit.

When I left they were just starting to build the marina, I did return a few years later when it had been completed.

Any fast food places (KFC, Hungry Jacks, etc ) in town, when I lived there you had to drive to Whyalla for anything like that.

@bearfly - welcome from sunny (yeah, right!) Mount Gambier in the South East of SA!

You certainly can't go wrong with Black Caviar!

Enjoy your time here, I am sure you will have lots of fun.

Sorry for late response, been a busy couple of months for me.
KFC was already in town when I moved here in 96, and Maccas opened up around 7 or 8 years ago (I think arond about then).
Also now have a Bunnings and Harvey Norman alng with a 3rd supermarket (Foodland), so town is starting to grow a bit.
Marina is planned to be expanded in next few years (although they have been talking about it for a few years now with no action).

Sunny Mount Gambier hey - been pretty cold and miserable here last couple of months too!!!
BC has always been my fave horse, even had the opportunity to see her race live at Morphettville a few years ago which was a dream come true!!!
My philosophy with the BC memorabilia collection is that some of it will appreciate in value enough over the years that will provide me and the wife with a bit of extra funds later in life.
Also have several limited prints of BC that I doubled up on that have already appreciated in value by about 250% since she retired, so they will be up for sale at some stage in the next couple of years!!!
