G'Day All
I recently stumbled across your forum and thought you guys might be able to point me in the right direction. After 15 years away from collecting b'ball cards as a kid I have decided to start up once again. My problem is I have no idea where to start. To begin with I think I want to just concentrate on collecting a low to mid range set of b'ball cards, nothing to expensive.Any set within the last 5 years would be good. After researching on the net I think Im after a retail box? Im also having trouble working out the difference between diferent boxes of the same maker (eg panini) for that year. For example will the base cards be the same in a box of 2010 panini prestige when bought alongside a box of 2010 panini threads box if that makes sense.
Any help would be really apreciated. Chris

welcome to ozcards and back to collecting,i'm not into basketball but there's plenty on here who are.

Hey Chris, welcome! All the different boxes are different sets. So they don't, in any way, have anything to do with each other. Panini's the sole supplier from 2010 onwards, so that's why it's flooded the market with different products. I wouldn't recommend any because they're not that good, especially for the lower-end stuff, but that's just me.
However, I would recommend 08-09 Topps, 08-09, 09-10 UD or maybe Hot Prospects, those are nice sets which aren't that expensive :)

Thanks for the replys. Last night I made my first purchase buying a box of 93 94 Nba hoops to try and complete the set I started all those years ago.
Hopefully the start of many great buys!

Back again with another quick noob question. Where are some good places on the net to start looking for NBA boxes for sale? I would rather only buy from aussie stores and I have discovered ebay of course. Also how available are they in Aus because it would suck to start collecting a series only to have trouble finding those particular cards for sale. Thanks
