Gayle one short of the Don's score

Huge innings, hopefully it helps breathe a bit more interest in Test matches - can't make those scores in T20 and one-dayers.

333 always reminds me of Gooch's monster innings at Lord's - even bought a Stuart Surridge 333 bat when they came out!!
 
Wonder if he was thinking of 334. He can hardly call himself a 20/20 specialist after this. Maybe the weight of the captaincy lifted from his shoulders has brought about a change. Didn't help Sammy much though. First ball duck.
 
Aren't you forgetting tubby Taylors knock that equalled the dons score overnight, came out the next morning and declared without batting out of respect for the Don??
 
I think Ponting will get a big score in Melbourne, and Hussey will get a great score in Adelaide. I think Collingwood will get a big score for the Pom's aswell.
 
I watched this!!! Dissapointing the way he went out too he wasn't even trying to smash it the guy bowled the dooshra and cleaned bowled him would have loved to have seen him make like 500. He hit 9 sixes aswell!

In other news WA signed him for the 10/11 big bash aswell should be exciting.
 
This is what annoyed a lot of people about Gayle's captaincy. He was such a laid-back, "I don't give a stuff" kind of leader - and yet he can bat for seriously long times, as he did against South Africa during his first triple century, then against us at Adelaide last season, when he puts his mind to it.

No one will ever get 400 let alone 500. If Tendulkar can't now no one will.
