have you guys seen that dude from futera selling the RC1's?
eBay.ie: FUTERA ELITE CAUGHT MARSH BOWLED LILLEE REDEMPTION CB1
22 available!! ok it's not the 3 card set, Just the CB1 alone, but still..

or the impact samples?
eBay.ie: FUTERA IMPACT REDEMPTION CARD VERY RARE LIMITED TO 50

omg! he has 32 available, I know of a lot more than 18 others about!
pretty cheesed off about that as back then dealers were selling most futera samples as /50's, or /200 at most!

this is obviously not the case like this hutton sample card, there are 1000 regulars and 1000 samples! :woot:
eBay.ie: FUTERA BEST OF BOTH WORLDS MARK HUTTON 1995 BASEBALL
the guy brags about the fact that he has 600 of them

me thinks futera shafted us..

what could I sell the complete impact set for?
I'm thinking about $250 ish? is that too steep? or do you think i should list it sky high and hope someone just wants it and don't care how much?

I know I should probably just try and ignore the number produced as they say.. ignorance is bliss, but I don't want to sell a set off as /50 if it's clearly more than that, wouldn't want someone to think I took advantage of the fact they don't know the truth..

them holo's were 1/200 packs, at the time doing packs they really were hard to find, but when you did get one the /4000 was such a put off.
but i just dont understand how they could have most of them if they were 1/200 packs, adds up to about 22,000 boxes which is about right.
maybe they didn't even put most of them in packs at all?
it's a real strange one.
the whole sample thing and futera in general is a sham.
and then you got all them uncut sheets that they sold off before closing, wndering now if a lot have been cut and distributed as singles too.
I'm gonna be wary of anything i hear about futera from now on.

He may well have 22 of the 50 Marsh/Lillee redemptions. This guy bought a heap of stuff from Futera when they went bust.

The Impact Card he is selling is blank on the back, it is not stamped SAMPLE. I am of the understanding there are 50 SAMPLE versions with the silver foil on the front and 50 without the silver foil. God knows how many impact cards there are that are not stamped at all on the back - maybe 1000-2000?
A full set of sample inserts from 1996 Elite along with the impact card sample would sell for around $100 in my books. I bought a fully redeemed Impact card (#20/50) last year for $650.

The book "The Futera File" gives a full breakdown of how many sample cards were produced for each series. It said that for 1995 baseball there were 200 samples of each card.

The Futera File also explains on p51 that of the first 4000 Border holograms that were produced, only 1890 initially made their way into the packets due to printing problems. The second batch were apparently no better than the first, and out of 8000 holograms only 3840 were 'acceptable'. It says the balance were destroyed but obviously there were many that were not. Redkempy was selling the holograms on batches of 100, and I bought 100 off him last year for GBP69.99 (AUD$100!!) That is $1 each! Ridiculous! And all were in mint condition and numbered individually on the back just like the ones that made their way into packs. They were all sequential numbers and no duplicates.

Worst part was I busted a box of 94/95 cricket a couple of months back and pulled a hologram in the box......what an anti-climax that was!

exactlly what i was going to say Brad, great book that Futera File. was thinking about this before, id say they werent destroyed at all by the looks of it, very dodgy. you just wonder what sort of things were sold off to the public when they went bust!

ok, i'm sorta with you here..
what do you mean about silver foil on the front?
the impact card is gold foil on the front, do you mean the word sample in silver on the back?

nope i think i'm even more confused :)

ok lets talk about the year before, does the futera file mention anything about the numbering on the samples for say the supreme team?
'cos that set is about the most confusing out of the lot.
it seems there are 3 variations to the sample set.

sample /7000
#d sample /7000
#0000 sample /7000

is there a 4th variation with blank /7000?

Ok, just to clarify what i'm on about with the supreme team samples..

the healy card shows (sample of 7000)
the warne card shows (sample 2928 of 7000)
the taylor card shows (sample 0000 of 7000)

is there a (blank of 7000) version set?
so no sample written at all, just a blank.

I think it might be said that the Futera Quality Assurance dept has his feet up on his desk eating a cheese and vegimite sandwich reading the job adds of the Herald Sun!!

yeah well either that or they were rolling up the cards and smoking them.
apparantly the uv coating smokes up nice.
i'm particularily interested in the 0000's as i've never seen anything else futera with just 0's

reckon there could be a whole category here dedicated to futera.
that be real cool i reckon, it's confusing going from one sport category to the next
to find posts on futera, nbl, abl, nsl, cricket, rugby, surfing, non-sports, card crazy authentics stuff, should be all under the one futera banner as they are no more, be nice to have a compilation of it all in one spot.

yeah, probably dreaming.
and then a category for tempo which is a bad sister of futera.
one for dynamic too would be great.

I haven't seen the samples with numbering on them also - they are not covered in the Futera File either. All it says is that there are 50 sample cards for all inserts in 95/96 cricket except for the Warne hat trick - there are only 11 sample cards for that one.

I have taken a pic of the 2 variations of the sample impact card - both have gold writing, but one just has the colour background (has "SAMPLE of 50" on back) whereas the other is a foil/glittery background (has nothing, just "of 50" on the back), the same as my real impact card (numbered "20 of 50").

hmm, that's really interesting.
I have an impact card without the sample on the back but it's just a color front, not glittery.
the #20/50 is really nice, saves me downloading porn tonight, i'll just look at the card :)

WOW never seen a couple of those variations! Thanks for sharing man:thumbsup: Just goes to confirm my suspicions about futera being a tad dodgy back then and as for redkempy I think he has been discussed elsewhere...
