ok so i bid on a card last week and lost by $2.50 yet today the seller has the same card listed again as buy it now for $200 which is double what i bid. i msgd him and asked why if the high bidder had retracted his bid i wasnt offered a second chance. to which he replied that it cost him more than that to buy. it would have sold for $2.50 more and i was the second highest bidder..... anyone else think this is fair dodgy ??
also he has had this card as buy it now a few times before and its never sold

The seller obviously wants more for the card than what people are willing to pay.

Definitely a bit rough for you and the guy that won the auction and didn't get the card.

I once sold a card that went for the price of dirt and it recently had sold for $50 but there was nothing I could do but move it for the cheap price. Others are not so good that way. Did the seller wear a negative feedback for it?

no he told me the buyer asked him to retract the sale as he needed the money for bills or something. my idea of the situation is he has a friend set a bid at the price he wants and if nobody outbids them it gets cancelled and relisted. the bid that beat me was placed a couple of hours before the auction ended so a bill must have magically appeared in those hours

i think it is actually but id flat out refuse to pay for it now. if hes not ready for it to go at what was bid it should have never been an auction and i almost got it when it was buy it now before the auction but then it was gone and relisted as the auction. so he knows i want it now and wants to take what he can

I recently had the same thing happen on an item I was watching.

I was trying to do a trade on BO, but the guy also had it listed in eBay. He was asking for trade value around $70 but the item was about to sell for $12!!! So he bid on it himself with another account to stop it selling.

It worked well for me because I only had to trade around $20 worth to him for it! Lol
