Had a really long end of the week here this week. First off back on Friday night after getting home from work, I ended up having car trouble to where I thought the theft system got busted while I was driving my car home from work. When it was all said and done, it turns out that the battery died on the car once I got home. So the next morning, my mom ended up calling a tow truck driver and he ended up jump starting my car at the house to where my mom drove it to Sears to get a new battery for the car. So my car now has a new battery...

Now on to Saturday. Back on Saturday morning, my day started really early as I had a really early shift at work. Since I had the car problems pertaining from Friday night, my mom ended up driving me in to work yesterday morning. I was up since 5am yesterday and had a work shift that lasted approxmiately 7am-3pm. Thankfully, I did end up getting my car back when I did right after I got out of work as I thought I would of missed this game yesterday as this was the only game in the series I could make with my demanding work schedule I have now at this time of year. Talk about a close call as I didn't think I would get my car back that fast lol...

Well I did make it home to get my items and stuff and did make the drive out to the Wuerfel. This game again felt like being at a high school football game as not many people there were wearing shorts but were covered in blankets, you name it lol. Man what is with Northern Michigan weather at this time of year??? It obviously needs to start warming up fast here...

Alright now to the story of the night here. I was going to post my Kalamazoo Kings results tonight finally lol with who all I got on the baseball and cards, but since I experienced a new low with a player in the Frontier League, I decided I will share this instead.

Well I did end up getting my ticket and all that for this game Saturday night thinking I wouldn't be staying for to long. I didn't originally plan to stay for the game as it was suppose to get really cold on that night. That all changed after my first encounter before the game with Brandon Parillo and here is how my first pleasant (yeah right) encounter pre game went with Brandon after Batting Practice:

Me: Brandon can you please sign???

Brandon: No way those cards are going to end up on ebay.

Me (IN COMPLETE SHOCK he said that line as he is walking to the lockerroom): You can personalize these cards.

Brandon: Huh??? (As he walks into the locker room.)

Then after all that happened, one of the pitchers that was with him in the group came back out to talk on his cell phone. As he was getting ready to call someone I asked him about Parillo and it turns out that he was pissed off over someone in Kalamazoo that he ended up signing a card for about 4-5 days ago only to discover that it was on ebay the following day and he was really pissed off by that. From the looks of things, it seems like everybody on the team knows how pissed off he is from seeing that signed card on ebay.

Well I decided to not give up on trying for him that easily. After all it is the Frontier League lol. The saga continues on to my 2nd encounter:

Me: Brandon can you please personalize these cards; these are not all mine. One of these is for a friend in Florida and one is for a friend in Maine. (Yeah I can confirm its true obviously...)

Brandon: Are you staying for the game???

Me: I guess I can plan to.

Brandon: Alright I will get you after the game if you will stay for the game.

Me: Okay see you after the game.

Then about 5-6 minutes later, the coaches from the team came out and the first thing they asked me was if I did get Parillo??? I told them no and they all mentioned they will see what they can do as I told them I plan to stay for the game. It turns out that the coaches knew of how pissed off Brandon was seeing that signed card on ebay a couple nights back.

Well the game went on as usual. It was a very long game but the Beach Bums were able to pull out the win in 12 innings!!! During the game, I was able to snag a foul ball and a t-shirt that was randomly thrown into the stands. It must be a good year for me with getting free t-shirts as this is the 2nd free t-shirt I have gotten at the park this year where its randomly thrown into the stands. I just wish now they start throwing free hats into the stands and sweatshirts so I can complete a free Beach Bums outfit lol...

Now here comes the dreadful after the game part bare with me gang...

After the game here, I waited by the Kalamazoo locker room as a precaution to see if Parillo might try to sneak around and avoid me. I double checked the roster so that I get the right number when I ask for him. A couple players go by, then I see Parillo and the number matched up to the roster sheet. Here is how this went down:

Me: Brandon you said you would get me after the game. I told you I would stay for the game.

Brandon: Your not the guy I want. Now f*** off I am not signing for you a**hole.

WOW WOW and WOW what can I say??? I had a hard time believing he said that to me. I almost fell over in total shock being that in my 3 seasons of graphing at the Wuerfel, I never had any problems getting players to sign my items for me at this level. The last thing I expected from a Frontier League player was for him to give me the ebay line and telling me to f-off after the game. This guy should be blessed and graceful, that his baseball career is still alive in this league. BUT WAIT AND HANG IN THERE GANG, I GOT MORE TO COME WITH THIS STORY...

After going through this mess with trying to get Parillo after the game, I decided to wait it out. I still am placed outside the Kalamazoo locker room here in hopes somebody will come back out. Since this game went to 12 innings, some post game stuff I noticed that goes on at Wuerfel to prepare for the following day already took place. 15 minutes after this games' conclusion, some lights started to dim. Add another 15 minutes of waiting around outside the Kalamazoo locker room, they shut down the lights to the field. The people started to leave and then I started to take off thinking that no one else will come back out. I started my walk and glanced back over one last time to that lockeroom and KNOW AND BEHOLD, there was a player outside the Kalamazoo locker room. I approached the player immediately asking for the coaches. Now here is how my final attempt to get Parillo went down:

Me: I am looking for the coaches.

Parillo: I am the guy your looking for. (He signals me to give him the pen and I get my cards out)

Me: Alright make the first card out to (the following name. I had to get him to do this 3 times for the 3 names for the 3 cards I had. He also did end up doing my team baseball while we had a long chat.)

Kalamazoo Kings

Brandon Parillo 3 cards, 1 team baseball (1 for Simon, 1 for Kyerkes98. He personalized all the cards.)

The rest of the team was gotten on a team baseball I had them do.

Parillo: Kid I am sorry about the way I acted. I am not totally against signing autographs, but I hate it when I sign for a person and he puts the card on ebay. This did happen in Kalamazoo a couple nights ago; so I signed his card and checked ebay the next day and there it is and I still am upset over it.

This chat went on for another 5 minutes. I literaly broke it down to where he decided that he will trust me and that I am able to keep my word and all that.

Alright now to conclude on my night here with the Kings. Brandon Parillo has to be the worse Frontier League signer that I have experienced. Danny Cox was grouchy, Eric Ridener might of had a bad attitude up here in town last year, but in my 3 seasons of graphing the Frontier League, I never had a player tell me to f-off after the game and to try to do everything he can to avoid signing for me. If anyone knows who that Kalamazoo person was that put the card on ebay, lmk as it almost did totally cost me getting this guy on Saturday night and it might be a problem for other people graphing this league trying to get him this year. Thankfully I did get him and that I did not buy any big counts of cards for him to sign. A heads up to anyone else seeing the Kalamazoo Kings; only bring ONE CARD of Parillo as he is a ***** to deal with. If he does sign for you, he will probably ask you for your name as that incident in Kalamazoo really did tick him off and I almost missed out on getting him Saturday night as a result.

It took me 4 attempts to finally get this guy. I hope Parillo's career ends up on VH1's Where are they now list as he is not fun to deal with. Especially since that I waited it out after the game and I almost got locked into the park as when I was finally exiting the park, half of the gate was already up and almost everybody was gone. Good luck to the rest of the Frontier League graphers as Parillo will be your biggest challenge to try to get this year.

Alright thanks alot for looking at this long story today!!!

Gosh that was an event hey, I know though how the guy must feel but still to act the way he did its not acceptable. I know now that when i get cards signed i ask if they can personalise it for me, at least that way they know you are not going to list it on ebay.

The cards I have got signed IP i would never consider selling or listing on ebay, couldn't part with them. That chance you get meeting a player for the first time is really special, the memory stays with you forever.

Glad everything sorted out for you though, you will have to post some scans of the items you got signed.
