Fired of letter to UD

Well adter yesterdays Trilogy box breaks, I sat down and got out my Beckett Basketball August 2007 issue and reread this story.

so today I fired of a letter to UD just asking a couple of questions, here is a copy of the letter.

Dear Sir or Madam:
I am just writing to alert your company that we seem to be getting packs of cards that are short of the stated amount for the product here in AUSTRALIA. I have purchased 3 boxes of 2006-07 Trilogy Series of cards and have received numerous packs with 4 base cards, 1 short of the stated 5 per pack, as packs did not contain memorabilia cards I feel that this product has mislead me. These boxes cost approximately $250.00 AUSTRAILIAN each. Is there any way that this situation can be rectified, please feel free to contact me by email to discuss this situation. Looking forward to your response.

p.s ! of the auto focus inserts Chris paul has a scratch from top to bottom on the face of the card, this is how it came out of the box. All of these boxes were factory sealed, I have enclosed the box lids as proof of purchase.




So I will wait and see what happens, if they contact me I will keep everyone up to date on what is happening.

It has happened to me in products, but never bothered to complain, as it's UD and it's like drawing blood from a stone.

I find your situation of being rorted on every box you bust open very, very hard to believe after one of your first posts on the forum:

I have some info here that may help you out as I purchased 2 05-06 SP Signature Edition tins and was not happy with the pulls, so here is the info that I found.


Now to the good stuff..... First you have to know what box you want. After you have decided what brand of cards you would like to receive, try to obtain a box top, pack wrapper, etc of the brand. If you don't have the box or pack wrapper, go to your local sports cards store and ask for a empty box just tell them you need it to put cards in it. If that is not possible, find sellers on ebay who look like they have opened many boxes and just tell them you collect the boxes and ask if you may pay for shipping and they will send you some. If there is no possible way for you to get the box covers or wrappers, it is ok.... You may not get a box in return but you will most likely get an auto or gu....

Second, take all the box covers or wrappers that you want to get and put it in a envelope with a letter saying the following: Dear Sir or Madam: I have bought ___ number of boxes and none had come with a (auto or jersey or rookie you choose according to what the box gives you) as promised so I would like to you to resend me a box with the proper items as the box should consist of. Then type your Name, Address, Tel Number, Email and Sign the bottom Thank you Your name. Then Mail it to The Upper Deck Company 5909 Sea Otter Place Carlsbad CA 92008 And you should get your boxes in 6-10 weeks no question!!! Try to send in send in 2 boxes at first then keep doing it. Thank you please don't sell this information as it is copywrited and I am not responsible for how you use this

Enjoy getting your cards and good luck to you... I sincerely hope it works as well for you as it has worked for me... you should be getting some good stuff... remember the better brands you use the better cards you will get....

I had the same thing happen in a box of 04/05 Trilogy with just 4 base cards, and i missed out on the auto focus card. I got 3 GU cards, 3 rc's and only 2 auto's.
They said to me after a similar email that i sent was that nothing is promised and the advertising is done on averages. I basically got a thankyou for your time and that was it.

Well have to gibe a big thumbs up to upper deck.
Got a package today after the original letter I sent to them and in the package is 4 trilogy packs and a letter saying thanks for letting them know and that they hope I continue to support UD products. They have just made me a lot less sceptical about large companies, they took the time and effort with associated costs and replaced the 4 packs that were short on cards. As I have said, I am not after free stuff from them, just not happy with packs short on cards and let them know.
