The next game in the series, Final Fantasy XV, which has been in development for four years, is apparently going to push the boat out, moving in the total opposite direction to the relatively linear previous two games.
Instead of this move to a more restrictive format, FFXV will, according to GamesMaster, feature an open world that’s supposedly going to be larger in scale than Skyrim’s, with large, open cities and even more content that the Bethesda epic.
The title, headed by Final Fantasy veteran, Hiroyuki Ito, who has previously worked on FF VI, IX and XII will sport Assassin’s Creed-like urban areas, and will also feature a reworked battle system, something of a trend on FF releases, one that will take several pointers from Square classic, Vagrant Story.
