I would prefer a point system. sellers and buyers will receive expereince points depending on the worth of the card / card lot.

Reason:

It is actually easy having 10 small deals (maybe even trades) and getting the first 10 feedback points. IMO it is not worth the same if I have three, four, five high $ deals....

I like this idea but it goes back to the point Graham made about time consuming work and site management, who will review each and every deal/value to allocate the points?, I think it will simply be too time consuming and tedious given the admin numbers.
Unless there is a way of simplifying the process/making a standard?

cheers

Matt

Hi Matt,

I agree...
for now I would appreciate if the following Quote of Graham will become a rule for this site and I think many guys would appreciate it as a new rule

How do we word it ?

Members with less than 10 feedback MUST SEND FIRST unless
a) the person can provide references from other trading websites and/or eBay with trading card history to the satisfaction of the member they are trading with.
b) the new member is selling, in which case payment can then be made prior to sending via PayPal only and seller MUST send via registered post.
c) ??

Is there more we can add to this to adjust the rules to cover the scenarios discussed here ?

What do you think?

Mate I understand you are still pretty upset about a recent deal that went bad with a member who had been pretty good until this point, but the rules in place at the moment are the rules we are sticking with.

We try and make this forum as safe for traders as possible and guys like Graham, Doc and Chad do a lot of work behind the scenes making sure that all the potential problems are limited so that people can enjoy their time on this site and trade with confidence.

In this case a good member has done the wrong thing and this is something that we really cant control. We have tired numerous ways of contacting this member on your behalf including go on to other message boards looking for recent activity of this member.

Our site is simply the medium in which you trade through, just like any other not for profit collecting site. We get collectors together and promote trades under rules that are fair for all.

While your idea has merit, the logistics of implementing this isn't as easy as it sounds.

Cheers
Matt

Wont happen. The hobby isn't based on high value cards and this simply discriminates against collectors. This site isn't set up as a sale/trade forum so collectors save money on ebay fees etc. Its about helping people boost their collection and gain the cards they need or want.

We do watch the site and if people make 10 quick small deals and then have one big sale we normally block it. We have said that in the past and have done it. Its just us using caution and common sense to keep the site safe.

End of case.
